Summary: Inspector onsite to observe:
1.) Atlas Iron proceeded to drill, clean and epoxy the Y.." x 10" Threaded Rods into the Child Care Center Courtyard Stage Slab on Grade.
The holes were drilled to a depth of 7", and were cleaned with compressed air. The specified minimum embedment depth was stated to be
6'/.". The epoxy was Simpson SET-22 epoxy, exp. 09/2008. Each hole was filled with epoxy then the Threaded Rod was installed. The Rods
were for the Canopy Columns Base Plate Anchorage. A total of 8 threaded rods were epoxied for the canopies front columns.
" Work was performed per detail-2 / S-1.
Welder. Julio Ordon, LA. City certified Cert# P009608, Exp.06/22/2009. SMAW, FCAW.
* Work is complete.
2.) Atlas Iron then proceeded to field weld the 4" STD Pipe Columns to the 5/8" thick Base Plates (2-total). The welds were stated to be 'A"
filet weld all-around. Atlas Iron also proceeded to field weld the W8x28, W6x20, MC6x18, and MC8x22.8 Beams and Channels to each
other for the Canopy Roof Framing. The welds were stated to be 'A" fillet welds all-around from the Beam Webs to the Channel Shear
Plates.
• A total of 12 welded connections were to be performed.
• Welding was performed using the FCAW welding process with E7IT welding electrodes.
• Welder. Julio Ordon, LA. City certified, Cert# P009608, Exp.06/22/2009. SMAW, FCAW.
• Work is ongoing.
3.) AK Construction proceeded to dig the 32" deep 24"wide Canopy Column Footings (2-total). After the digging was completed and the
Footing dimensions were verified AK Construction proceeded to place the Footing Reinforcement Into the footing around the 4" STD Pipe
Columns which was stated to be 4 #4 Vertical Reinforcement Bars with #3 Horizontal Ties spaced at 12" o.c. The Reinforcement had a
spedfied 3" minimum clearance between the Soil and the Reinforcement which was verified also
