TITLE: Cameo Shores Pavement Reconstruction — Notice of Completion
for Contract No. 5891 (Project No. 15R02)
ARSTRACT-
On May 24, 2016, City Council awarded Contract No. 5891 for the Cameo Shores
Pavement Reconstruction to All American Asphalt of Corona, California. The work is
now complete and staff requests City Council acceptance and close out of the contract.
RECOMMENDATION:
a) Accept the completed work and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of
Completion for the project (On May 24, 2016 the City Council found this project
exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant Section
15302);
b) Authorize the City Clerk to release the Labor and Materials Bond 65 days after the
Notice of Completion has been recorded in accordance with applicable portions of
the Civil Code; and
c) Release Faithful Performance Bond one year after acceptance by the City Council.

The contracted work has now been completed to the satisfaction of the Public Works
Department. A summary of the construction cost is as follows:

The actual cost of contract bid items constructed was $122,352.86 less than the original
bid amount. The majority of the cost saving is attributed to the reduction of asphalt
concrete quantity needed. The project also included two change orders for a total
amount of $213,886.02, which was approximately 6.4 percent of the original bid
amount. Notable change order was for the extra time and material needed to replace
unsuitable sub -grade materials in order to stabilize the soil. A summary of the project

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW:
On May 24, 2016, City Council found this project exempt from the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15302 (replacement of existing
facilities involving negligible expansion of capacity) of the CEQA Guidelines, California
Code of Regulations, Title 14, Chapter 3, because it has no potential to have a
significant effect on the environment.
