Most surprlsing fact was that At- torney Phelps carried th~ judge's home town of Costa Mesa by 78 votes, and Judge Dodge carried Newport Beach by 207 votes. The judge carried aU sections of New- port Beach except Kay's home comm\D'Uty or Corona dt'l Mar, where the "local boy .. held a mar- gin or 176 vptes.
