First Again
To Top Goal
We will be making one of the
most important decisions ln the
history of bur free American na-
tion Tuesday-ehooslng the nation-
al administration to direct our af-
fairs for the next four years. And
tM choice will have much to do
with the preservaUon of our liber-
ties and the strength and moral
integrity of our nation. I am reg-
istered as a Democrat, but party
politics has never hung a stone
around my neck. and it should not
determine the Issue in this election
with any of you. I am casting my
vote for Dwight D. Eisenhower,
Republican. and I trust that suffic-
ient others of you will do so too
so that there will be a change in
the administration come January.
Even if Ike were the most rock-
ribbed conservative in the world I
would \'Ole for him over Adlai
Ste\'enson, because I consider the
threat to our moral fibre a far
greater issue than Democrats ver-
s~ R.l'publlcans or Uberals versus
conservatives. We have seen the
tragt'dy of an administration, and
our nation, becoming dulled to the
shame of conuptiOD and cn.bon-
esty and scandal that should cause
us all to rise in wrath and cast
the rucala out. A change of name
of Administration leader from
Truman to Stevenson wiU not do
it; It wiiJ ta.ke a complete house-
cleaning to eheck the insidious in-
fluence of 20 years in power. I
commend to all of you the slogan
that was presented in this column
several weeks ago: "The Bill or
Rights. not a biU of goods," and
urge you all to cast your votes for
lke.

' FOR JUDGE
Of Our NEW COURT
IT IS NOT LOGICAL for you to pay your hard-earned money to hire the best at-
torney you can find to represent you and then have him work before and under a
judge who has never attended law school and who is not licensed to practice law.
We will soon have sufficient population for a Municipal Court, and of the 167 Mu-
nicipal Court judges chosen in California to date AU BUT TWO are licensed a~
tomeys.
HE OWES NO POLITICAL DEBTS
-He baa not sought nor obtcrlned the public endorsement of any person or group.
He believes that a judge should enter office owing no political obligations and he
l8ara that the seeking of such endorsements may cast doubt upon the fairness and
impal1lality of the Judge.

Goo SENDS THE sur-.;Rt~E.~ .ud send~ tl.f: Dove! May she light on the
cross atop the steeple of our church. May she drop her message of
"Peace on earth. goodwill to men." May this symbol of the H oly Spirit
eliminate rivalries of Methodists, Presbyterians. Baptists, Catholics and
all the other religious groups. May we give the "Prince of P ea ce" a chance
in our lives. in our families and with our neighbors. May we care more
for progress of soul than in progress of things. The ways of Peace are
more difficult than the ways of strife. They bear the mark of culture,
of civilization, of deep piety and of genuine religion. May we be faithful
to God and to H is church . May we be Peacemakers lor they shall be
