Coach Miles Eaton announced
this week the opening of the 1952
basketball schedule on Nov. 25.
Coach Eaton has six returning
lettermen this year : Glen Grif-
feth, Harry Schurcll. Da\'e Peter-
son, AI Deniz, and Ron Quigley.
Newcomers to the team include
Armos Nettles. who at Newport
High in his junior year scored
141 points and was all-Sunset Lea-
gue and CIF player in the small
schools division.
The schedule has 22 games slat-
ed this year, starting with the
alumni game on Nov. 25, and con·
tinuing until Dec. 17-20, when the
Pirates play in the Chaffey Tour-
nament, the big test for the team.
The Cha ffey Tournament is one
of the biggest basketball evenu
of the year. Arter the Chaffey 1
event OCC will open the season
with Cha!fey on the local floor.
