The Case of the Pitted Wind-

It firs t came to our attl'ntion
Friday by way of a phone call
from Gordon Wa rren of 308 Car

who said hf' had hf'ard some.
thing strike his windshield as
he was driving In Corona del
Mar about 1 :30 p.m . He Inves-
tigated and noticed a number
of pits. He said he was driving
slowly and that the pitting couJd
not h ave come !rom rocks or
gravel hurled by car wheels.
We investigated Mr. Warren's
windshield. and sure enough.
there were pits all right. So we
checked our own windsh ield-
and there wt're hundreds of tiny
spots. They can be ff'lt by
scratching with a fingernail, and
many a re large enough to show
the chipping of the glass. We
kept on checking. and all our
neighbors had 'em too-and no
doubt you do too. Go take a look.
As Cor theories. lbere a re
