My own stand in fevor of keepong the Coron1.1 del Mor Post
Office "1.1s is" hes been challenged by some of my fovorite cro tics.
They esk: How c&n I demand economy in government. but resi~t it
when it effects the home town?
My answer is tft•f I covld not oppo~ consolidation of posf
offices if it could be clearly shown thet there would be subst1.1ntiol

The Post Off,ce Dept offic•...,ls when fin1.1lly b1.1ded into ~ corner

Where there's 1.1 rumble. there must be some sort of a l~nt
To sum it up· There is 1'10 proof of economy. no ch~nqe in service.
Furthermore. Corona del Mar os ~sking for no spec•ol fovor or

There is another important consideretion in this Corona del Mer
camp1.1ign to s1.1ve its first doss Post Office : This is the motter of good
faith on the part o f the Post Office Dept.
Verne Scoggin~. regional dire ctor in S~n Francisco. has wriHen

Sneak Biography of Bunster Creely
(From the Lido Islander )
It's not easy to dig up Inform&· t'

Bun.ster Creely Is known by
many of the residents of Lido
simply as the Manager of the

who have not met him person·

character on the other end of a

On unimpeachable authority
we have learned that during the
formative years o! Orange Coast
College, when It was formu-
lating standards of student be·
hav1or, It was felt that Bunster
Creely and m en of hls calibre.
made a definite mark and were
an Inspiration and guide to the
student body. A singular honor
was paid Bunster when he de·
clded to leave Orange Coast and
come to Udo. The student gov-
ernment passed a resolution to
hang a portralt of Bunster ln the
student center 1n honor or ''an
Inspiring friend" and today It
appropriately graces the walls of
the bulldJng housing the book·
shop.
The biggest surprise to the re·
searchers on the life of Bunster
Creely was the fact that he once
was an amateur boxer of con·
aJderable stature. But virtually
no facts are available, at least
locally, on Bunster's record in the
ring. He did nght for the San
Fra.nclaeo Olympic Club during
tbe mJd-twentJes u a fl~lght.
And one informant bas a dlm
recollection of hearing him speak
of fighting In Hollywood. Be
never turned professional.
Bunster ls an bnnorary mem·

and a member of the Balboa

has been affiliated with the Ath·
