This is one of the first of the fund-raising projects that will determine the number of stu· dent exchanges which the local committee will be able to spon · sor netx year. Upon returning from a tour ot Europe last spring, the national director. Stephen Galatti, com· mented that he could already see tangible results of this exchange program In many countries, es· peclally In Germany, where sub· sidles from our State Department have helped to Increase the quotas for that country. W herever he went, Mr. Galatt1 found people who understood the United States a little better and who had friends who had been here on this program. At that time A.F .S. had 760 foreign stu· dents and the N~ York otflce hopes that this number can be doubled soon. In this area many service clubs. church groups, business firms. and Interested Individuals, along with the Harbor High students, are helping to raise the money needed for lhls very worthwhile project. ------ Sonic Barrier Pilot to Talk.
