It was a sad day Thursday,
Jan. 16, when the gh"IAI Varsity
tennis team returned home from
FulJerton with a slate of no wins
and 12 loeses. Mrs. Jeanne Leon-
ard, girls tennls Instructor, was
unable to make the trip and was
spared the dlssappolntment of
the girls on the trip homeward.
However, Miss Marilyn Roberts,
substitute for Mrs. Leonard, llfted
the girls spirits somewhat by
commenting, '7he girls played
very well. Next year we'll beat
them!"
The girls left Newport Harbor
at 12:45 and returned to tht'
school at 5 p.m. .
Today (Thursday) the tennis
teams play against San Jaun
Capistrano here at Harbor.
