• SO LONG. COLONEl. BLAKE
A nostalgic tie with the old, romantic West was
broken last week with the passing of a good friend,
Col R. G. Blake. I'm going to miss the old gentleman.
who was always ready with a cheery greeting, never
fallmg good humor, a gallant bow, and a tip of the
hat His walk was spry and jaunty as he used to go
by the Enstgn office. Sometimes we would practice
a quick draw if we happened to come upon each j
other sudden-like. and always I was glad that it was I
only a fr iendly gesture, because he had all the ap-
pearance of a gent with a lot of know-how about
slinging guns. He lived his part to the very end, and
he probabl)l arossed the Divide the way he wanted
to. alone. amidst the many mementoes of h1s eventful
past So long, sorry to see you go. .. .. ..
