* * * e WAITING FOR AN ANSWEIL LIBERALS
I am still waiting for local liberals to give me the
answer to the great mystery of liberal philosophy:
Why are they so relentlessly opposed to the conserv-
ative anti-communist movement, although they were
a t the forefront of the anti-naz· and anti-fascist move-
ments of World War II days? What incredible rea-
soning is there behind their effort to destroy the anti-
communist forces. which are seeking to alert the
public to the most dangerous and ruthless enemy
that mankind has ever faced? What makes it so
easy for the liberals to fi~ht nazism and fascism and
so difficult to understand the far greater peril of
communism? Why do the hberals charge that anti-
communist activity is practically as dangerous a s
communism itself? Why are the liberals "soft" on
communism? What is the strange delusion that
mates them so blind to the irrefutable historical evi-
dence of brutality, murder. deceit and subversion
perpetrated hourly by the agents of God-less com-
munism?
I will appreciate an answer from the liberals.
* * * e WHO IS THE REAL ENEMY?
I am not talking about only local liberals. The
c!"lti-anl!-commumst fervor has gripped the liberals
:!-:roughout t~e natlon, all the way up to the leaders
c: our national administrahon.
The nauonar spokesman appears to be Senator
Vhlltarn Fulbnght of Arkansas, chairman of the Sen-
a:e Committee on Foreign Relations. Hts opinions
a re set down fo r the record in the fantashc document,
·Memorandum on Propaganda Activities of Military
Fersonnel D1rected at the Public," which helped es-
iabltsh the Ke nnedy Administration's policy o f sup-
p:-essmg anll-commumst activity among the military
Fres1dent Kennedy has stated publicly that he backs
:he Fulbnght memorandum.
I wish every American would read the memo-
randum -and If theu blood does not b01l in anger.
hey aTe not true Americans. The Fulbright report
IS printed in a n amazing document. a 56 -page Con-
gressional Record reprint. entitled "Excerpts from
Speeches by Senator Strom Thurmond on Efforts to
Gag Military Anti-Communist Speeches and Semi-
nars."
Senator Fulbright is b luntly frank in his reason
for seeking to gag military spokesmen against com-
munism. Here a re his own words:
". . . . The •du.t P'OCJI'Mn • • • • m.Ge UM of er+remety

But why should an anti-communist program be
a threat to President Kennedy's New Frontier plans?
Let Senator Fulbright himself explain why, as he
describes the thesis of the anti-communist activily.
''The thesit of the n.ture of the CC~mmUftitt tfnet off.n Is

There you have it -a realistic explanation by
a lMw Frontier Democrat speaking with the greatest
of candor becauae he did not intend this memo-
raDCNm to be made public. ~utilorities on communism can Me that Pr.i-aiai Jr.nneciy'a legialative projecte of tremendoua

Senator Barry Goldwater described the memo-
randum as "the most shocking document I have seen
since I have been a member of the Senate."
Senator Karl Mundt has termed it ':0 shocking
and utterly ~z:1realistic document of qbject appease-
ment." ·
Senator Thurmond gets to the core of the true
menace facing our nation with this testimony on the
Senate floor:
"F« the p•st decide there heve been ~umerous stones,
•ccuwtions •nd even testimony bef«e the Contr"S +tt.t • h.d

been interpreted .. pro-communist, soft on CC~M~N~niiM. left-
• thinking, MMJitt, hauy,fringe •re• soct.litt thinking. end to .. .
If you think that testimony is far-fetched, just
consider the following statemen ts, which the admin-
istration has found objectionable, and which have
been removed by the Kennedy administration cen-
sors from speeches of government officials:
"Communist conspir•cy directed town •btolut. domin•-
tion of the world." •.. "The ste.dy .dv•nce of COINftunitm." ..•
"The communist chelenge." . . . "T odey in the face of the
wortd,wide thre•t of intern•tion•l communism." • • • "Insidious
ideology of world communism." . . . "Soviets h..,. not relented
in the slightest in their determin•tion to dominate the world ~d
to destroy our w•y of life." • . . "Nothing lwtt h41pp•ned to in-
dict•+• th•t the go.ls of lntem•tion.! communism have ch•ged"
Unbelievable! But true! The above phrases
have bee n censored from speeches of government
officials. What a frightening example of the incred-
ible success of the prime goal of the current com-
munist lme: to destroy the effectiveness of the grow-
mg anti-communist movement.
Will the American people awaken ~arly enough
to turn back this tide of appeasement -in time to
save our nation fro m being engulfed in the Red tide
that is advancing over the enhre world?
