Lt•• ..... • A TIME FOR DECISION American patriots should go to the polls In the June 5 primary and In the November general election with the knowledge that our constltutionaJ , free enterprise republic is in grave danger from creeping (and event- ually galloping> socialism. The caliber of candidates we elect during th is fateful year may be the decisive factor in determining our future. There are many who believe that thi s election year may be our last chance to turn back the tide and preserve our republic. All voters should consider the candidates with the greatest of care, and to examine all bond propositions with a critical eye. Let us elect conservatives to of.- fice, and let's begin saying "no" to the ever-increas- ing list of bond requests . We need the conservatives to halt the wei fare-state programs at both the state and national I eve Is and to curb the power-hungry a~ ministration in Wash ington. We must start saying "no" to more and more spending before financial disaster strik es. It is far better to suffer some belt-tightening and some financial inconvenience now thew1 to head bl indly toward financial collapse and chaos. '3eware of the "no and yes" conservative, and of the "yes, but" patriot. We need men who are unwaver- ing in their determination to oppose the New Frontier socialism and to defend our Christian nation. • • • THE GOVERNOR AN 0 SENATE RACES Two of the decisions are of prime importance on the Republican primary ballot: the choice of candidates for governor and U.S. senator. The issue is clear in th e governor race. Elect a sound conservative, Joe Shell, so that we can enter the November battle with a strong qepubliciWl CiWldi- date against the Democrats' Pat Brown. In the U.S. senator race, it is easy to decide whom NOT to vote for: We don't want a "me-too" pseudo qeoublican, incumbent Thomas Kuchel, who has voted many times with the Nev. Frontier schemes. 'Ne want a true conservative, and 1 am cas ting my vote for Howard Jarvis. The th ird candidate in the race. aging Loyd Wri ght, deal t a grievous blow to the conservative cause by en tering the race. He is astute enough to know that his entry splits the conservative vote and vi rtually in- sures the nominati on of "me-too" Kuchel.. We can only hOpe that the mew1y months of campaigning by Mr. Jar- vis, who was in the race long befo re Mr . Wright, will win him enough of the votes of conservatives to win the nomination • • • RECOMMENDATIONS FOR JUNE S Here's the way I am going to marie my ballot Govemor ................................
