TESTlMG POliCY MEEDS REVIEW
I have heard enoogh comment and complaint aboot testing
In our hi ~ schools tD suggest that the eoti re testing pro-
gram should come up for public review.
~ number of parents have descri bed what they consider to
be objectionable questionnaires -dealing with personal
affairs and family li fe of studeots, and including sex eciJ-
catlon. Pertlaps it is th is latter i tefTl that causes most of the
objection. Sex education must be based on mo rality, and
the basis o f morality Is religion, and public schools are not
allowed to teach religion.
It would be well fo r the board of trustees to re-evaluate
the school policy on testing and sex education. This could
be done effectively in the same manner that the elefTleotary
school policies were glveo an exhaustive revi ew several
years ago. <\n interested group of parents submitted a num-
ber of questions. and these were answered in detail tn put>-
lic meetings.
TOSSING SOME BOUQUETS

LEE WIL DER, former Newport Beach ci ty councilman,
who came back to cooncil ctlcwnbers last weelc to give a

public oocumeots. He has collected a considerable amount
of informa tion to baclc up ht s charge that UNtr:EF, as a tool
of communist conspttacy, is a clear and preseot danger to
our nation, and therefore also to our cnmmunity. His docu-
mented informatton deserves study .

offering to make htmself a test case in the county-ci ty

to go water siding 10 the Upper '3ay, where the county has
decreed "no skiing" by efTlergeocy ordinance without con-
sulting the city, but wttere the city ordinan ce permits skitng.
He's invt ting arrest, and a test case tn court, by way ')I
