Once again the tremendous emotional appeal of eager
little children will be used for the Halloween "trick or
treat" for UNICEF funds.
There will be enthusiastic youngsters taking part in
whatappear s to be a dedi cated, humanitarian cause. They
will not realize that they are PJ Wns in a controversial
maneuver that affects the security and safety of us all.
Read the following editorial, reprinted in the October
issue of "Througtl to Victory," monthly publication for
Lutheran Laymen for Christ and Country. Better yet, hand
out copies of this editorial to UNICEF solicitors, and
help get across even just one vital bit of i nformation:
that you don't give to needy children if you give funds to
UNICEF; you give to GOVERNMENT. When a communist
government receives UNICEF funds, can anyone honestly
beli eve that a family resisting communist tyranny wou ld
get any of the funds? The UNICEF program helps to keep
the communist government in power, and thus helps to
perpetuate tyranny and misery. • • •
