AIIAICIIY IIAY TRIGGER DICTATORSHIP
Our representative In Washington, Congressman James
Utt, who is on the "firing line" where the toubte is, has
dispatched a sobering message of warnlng to his consti ..
tuents he re on the coast.
In hi s cu rr ent "Washington Report," he wams of an im·
pending invasion of the nation's capital, "intended to
ove rthrow the government by force and violence." He
sees th e growing ana rchy as a po ssible trigger for de-
daring milit ary dictatorship to rule the Republic that our
Founding father s labO red so ha rd to establish, Every
Ameri cirl should read and heed th is report from Co ngre ss-
man Utt. Here it is in full:
AIIAICHY -U.S.A.
Fantastic ftlouglol it rnay se.m, this great Republic is
threatened wiri-1 anarchy. In fact the threat has ;rown so
far rilat the only salvation may be a military dictatorship.
Anarchy and dictatorship represent two opposite extremes;
the first, complete absence of ;ovemm.,.t; the second, a
totality of go vernment. These two extremes have faced
many ci'lili:.otians over the past 4,000 years.
The Founding Fathers of this ;reat Republic were well
aware of th is fact, They had done their homeworlc , and
they labored long and hard to produce a Republic with
chedu and balances sufficient to prev~t the usurpation
of power either by anarchists or by dictators. I have al·
ways felt that the primary responsibility of the Con;ress
was to preserve ri-l is very delicate balance b.tween these
two eldremes.
Success mar\ted our progress for the first 160 yean of
ou r exi stence.
Over the post 35 years, there has been a steady down-
grading of rilis concept o f go vernment. The dignity and
rugge~ess of the individual hove become submerged in
coll ectivism, group dynamics, moss psychosis, humanism,
and biockemi stry, culminating in group self·criti ci sm. All
of this is aimed at destroying the independence, the self-
confidence and self-reliance of the individual , whict-J have
always constituted the solid foundation of liberty, justice,
and good government.
All th is was never more evident than in the Pavlovian re-
action of the American people following tht' ~ of Mar-
tin luther King.
These ore the tools of Commun ism, which produce a
dialectical materialism, aimed at the complete subversion
of a great people. The campus demonstrations, the de-
fiance of low and order, the destruction of property, both
public and pr ivate, ore manifestations of this sickness
now sweeping Ame rica. It is this sickness ltlot is bring-
ing the so-coiled "Poor People's Moren" on Waslo.ington,
headed by Rolplo. Abemothy ond hi s cobol of troublemakers.
They intend to blackmail ond block-jock the Congress in-
to complete submission. Regretfully, too many feather-
legged politicians ore caving in on every side. People
·are too will ing to believe th at property riglo.ts should be
token without due pro cess of low or ius! compensation,
as provided in the 5th Amendment to the Constifl.ltion.
We in Wash ington ore faci ng on invasion intended to
overthrow the gov emment by force ond violence. Tlo.e
doctrine of "non-violence" is as phony as a three-dollar
bill, and falls in the category of diolecticol materialism.
The instructions of Lenin were to proceed in o non-violent
manner, in suclo. o way as to provoke extreme vio lence,
which wo uld completely disrup t government and society.
The wri t1ngs of Ralph Bun che, founder of the Notional
Negro Congre ss, a Communist front, in '"Sci ence and So-
ci ety,'' o Communist magazine, of whi ch he was a con-
tributing editor, laid out the complete blueprint for what
is happening in America today. He contributed to ltlis
publ ication ond added his nome and prestige as o pro fes-
sor of Ho ward Unive rsity even after the Commun ists in
their publication, "The Commun ist," openly stated that
"Science and Society" magazine hod as its function "'to
Me lp Morxward moving students and intellectuals to com e
closer to Maotism-Len•nism'' and ''to bring Communist
thou ~! into academic ci rcl es." Any Ameri can who does
not recogn ize the find hond of Commun ism in th is un-
happy pi c rure is simply bl ind.
In these 35 years there has been o bu ilding up of the
tools of dictatorship, augmented by decisions of the Su-
preme Court, and by a series of Executive Orders, wh ich
give the President the unconstitutional ri;ht to toke
control of comm unications, transportation, public utili-
ties, the labor force, in fact every facet of indlutry and
loco\ gov ernment, so that o dictatorship con be created
instantaneously, and there is very little that can be done
about i t, In fact, after what you ore going to go through,
in the way of o long, hot summer of di sconlent, riots,
murder, looting, and the destruction of property, you may
well be conditioned to ask for dictatorship as o relief
from Cl"'orchy.

1. Every Chrbtlan Is responsible to keep the law. Keeping It m eans more
than merely obeying It-it means also understanding it, teaching It and
enforcing it. The operation of the law to this day depends u~n the
action of whatever person has personaJ knowledge o f a crime: the
wltntiJ is the primary official of the reaJm in the prosecution of every
crime.
2. Brokm laws are repaired by theinOictionofpunishment. Law and o rder
are restored only when crimes are justly punlshed.
3. JuaUce means the handing out or true deserts without respect of persons.
It meant each penon receives what he deserves in punishment, not that
all men receive equaJ treatment, or equal o pportunities, or equal wealth.
Equal d.IJtribution of goods Is actually unjust, because it disregards
what each person deserves.
4. There Is no place for m ercy until justice has been served.
5. The atoning death of Jesus on the cross is not understandable apart
from a deep sense o f God's law and justice: neither is the mercy or Chris!.

fhl JD)Meriet of the mind ha•e been hidden
from man ror centuries. 11 is only very re-
cently that he has been able to study them with
uy deJJU of ob;ectivity. Such investisation
makes it increuinaly clear that those thinas which
stimulate the thintlna procnses come from two
~neral sources: (I) those related to the needs
or man as a functionina physical machine, and
(2) those that transcend the physical and reach
out into the !!.piritual.
Man is a creature of instincts, not the least of
which is self preservation. Furthermore. he likes
to think of his existence in its simpkst possible
terms, From this prejudice emerges a rath<:r
sparse concept of reality innorably linked with
the immediate. He defends with passion hi s simple
formula of life by a myriad of uncon~ious
mechanisms. Some threatening rorces originate
from within; these he projects to other people.
Other menacing aspects of life he handles by de-
fenses of denial. conscientiously overlooking a
host of unpleasant factors in his environment. By
such processes of self deception he is able to re·
strict reality to the rather limited dimensions of
his immediate surroundings.
Yet within him generate forct:s which compe(
him to forsake the immediate and ponder the
deeper aspects of life. However. these fill him wi th
such anxiety that he quickly withdraws to his im-
mediate exilltt:nce. All about him ht: is confronted
with evidence of the tenuous nature of living .
Things occur each day wh ich dt:mand that he
take a closer look at life and death. His time upon
the earlh is measured. He will not tah o ne step
beyond the calculated duration of his lift:. What
happens 1hen? By clever unconscious devices he
avoids this question by ignoring these thrt:atening
thundt:rclouds that endanger hi !i tight stability.
This war within is a st ru ggle which nevt:r ceases
as tong as he continues to draw a breat h.
This restlessness is not by accident. G od. Who
created the measurt:lt:ss univer~. crented man too.
'--la n however is a special product of crt:at ion
ior the Bible tells us that he is made in the image
and likt:nt:"~ of the Cr~ator.' God wanted to
walk wiTh man and to communic:lle with him in
warm personal fellowship. In 1he beginning this
intimacy exisled, but it did not last for long. Man
rebelled against God and ~in flooded hill nature.
The one who onct: walked wi1h GOt!. now walked
alone.
Man's loneliness is 50 complete that even
tt<nugh he may relate 10 many people he finds !hat
the approach of one man to another is alwaY'
from outside in. Inside i!i a chamber to which
only nof'--finite Minp can reach. Man will always
remain a predominantly empt:-;-. lonely creature
unless he is able to shar~ that inner cha mber with
50ITK ol her being.
Although man's rebellion against God might
havt: seemed irrevocable , God had no intention
of forsaking him. God still desired his company.~
The crealure could excludt: the crea1or from his
1hinking, but he could not hide fr om this gnawing
internal void. nor from tho~ many forces which
compelled him to inquire be)·oml the physical into
the spiritual.
Whenever man docs pau!IC to consider reality
in terms of infinit)', he find<:. persuasive evidt:nct:
thai there must be an absolute force directing
tht: ve ry complicated but orderly processes of a
functioning uni verse. Furthermore. if such a
force has crt:ated this intricate univer!IC. is it too

CHICK IVERSON saved a retired couple

This is not a ridiculous story ... read on.
Wh en this man retired, he was driving a popular make
larger car. He couldn't afford to maintain the high cost
of his present car every month. yet he and his wife
needed transportation every day. He went to see Ch1ck
Iverson about a smaller car ... a Volkswagen, and he
and his wife were amazed at the amount of cold cash
they could save every month. Chick Iverson showed
them that they could save approximately $68.50 a
month over a 5 year period . This comparison involved
substantial savings on purchase prtce, gasoline, insur·
ance, license plates, tires, interest on car payments, re-
,_;rs, and on and on. Not only could they now afford a
car, but they also saved enough to take kome trips ttlat
they hldn't planned on. Saving money is not ridiculous.
If you woutd like to enjoy Instant Economy reaardtess of
)'OUr occupttion. then call Chtc:k Iverson on the Penin· ·
IU .. 8nd pt the full' comparison-Free, of course.

Different funds have different investment
goals. Some seek maximum current income,
some aim for possible growth of capital, so
there's usually at least one which matches
any reasonable investment goal. From the
scores of different funds available, we help
select the one that seems best for you. We'U
provide you with prospectuses and help you
make the decision. Dean Witter & Co. baH
had years of experience in doing this.
