All lhese prophecie:. foretelling the fi rst coming
of Lhrist were i ulfilled to the letter. Why not be'·
lieve it when it tell s o f His second advent?
In -:onnection with literalism a nd the Second
Com ing, I would likr to a.sk how my armllennial
friends get a round such S criptures as tho!!t deal~
ing, fo r instance, with Israel's restoration. Look
for a moment at 2 S amuel 7 :10, lJ-16 : "Moreavt:r
1 w ill appoint a place for my people lsrae.l, and
will plan t them, that tht:y may dwell in a place o f
the1r own, and move no more ; neither shall the
children o f wickedness afflict tht:m any more, as
bdoretime .... He shall build an ho-...tsc: for my name,
and J will establish the throne of his kingdom for
ever. I will be hia f.ath~r. and he shall be my .son.
If he commit iniquity, I w ill chasten him with the
rod o( men, ... bw: my mercy shall not d~
away f rom him ... And thine house and thy krng-
dom shall be e.stabli shW for ever before thee: thy
throne shall be established for ever."
H erein we have the salient point! of the Davidic
covenant, namely, that David should h&vt a pos-
terity, a throne, and a kingdom, all three of which
were to be fo rever. In Psalm 89 :28--37 we hue
the renewal of this same covenant, only made more
b inding by the addition of an oat~: "My mercy will
1 ketp for him fo r evermore. and my cl1Venant shall
stand fast with him. His seed also will I make to
endure fo r ever, and his throne as the days of hea-
ven. If his children forsake my law, and walk not
in my judgments; if they break my statutes, and
keep not my commandments; tben will I viait their
t ransgreuion with the rod, and their iniquity with
atripes. New:nheless, my lovingkind~ss will I
not utterly take from him, no r suffer my faithful-
ness to fail. My COIJerunfl will/ Mot lwed, MtW tJll.,-

You will flO(e in the above Scripture that God
dec not say that He will revoke the covenant if
I srui becomes disobedtenL He says that He wiU
cot even alter the covenant. Moreover, He tak«
an oath, in view of H is own holiness, that that un-
ahered connant ~UiflK for a throoe, a kinedom,
and a posterity, shall be forever.
~ a man utters a falsehood. he ia ~ liar.
When a man utters a falsehood and twean to it M
beeomes a. perjurer. The man who has been proved
guilty of perjury is incapacitated for offering testi-
mony on wny case in any coun in aU the Janel. He
is noted in the records u a man who cannot be ~
lieved UDder oath. It DOt oo.Jy in-.alidatea his testi-
mony in connection with the thin4' to which be
swore, but puts any atatemeot of lUI in rqvd to
anything in the realm of doubt.
My friends who would say that there is no futurt'
for lvacl and that Christ, who is of the seed of
David and the lut. lcp.J. heir to David'• throne~ sha.U
never sit upon that throne, Yirtually, althou,ch I be-
lieve, unconsciously, charge God with perjury, for
if Israel hu no future and the only throne that
Christ will f!Vt:r have is the throne in the hcuu of
people, then most assuredly perjury is the WOI"d.
And if perjury is the word here in this cue, then
there can be no reliance plaud itt soch Scriptura
as, "Come unto me, aU ye that labour and are hleawy
laden, and I will give you rut"; "Him that cometh
to me ; I wiN in no wise cut out"; "He that heareth
my word, and believeth on him that sent me •••
is passed from death unto life"; for they were
uttered by a perjurer.
Let us look agaiD at Hosea 3 :•, 5, w!Uch reads u

Locked in these fuel pellets, which
contain uranium, is an incredible
amount of energy.
For instance, one cubic foot of
Uranium 235 will generate more
electricity than 32 billion cubic
feet of natural gas.
At Edison, we've been using
uranium fuel pellets like these for
more than two years. The energy
they release runs the giant turbine
at the San Onofre Nuclear Gen-
erating Station.
In the years ahead, Edison plans
to build additional nuclear power
units at San Onofre to meet your
need for more electtlcity.
But are nuclear power plants
harmful to the environment?
First, let's consider radiation.
Although it is true that a nuclear
power plant such as San Onofre
is a source of some radioactivity, it
is far below the limits allowed.
Standards set by the Federal Radi-
ation Council are rigidly enforced
by the Atomic Energy Commission.
Man has learned to control radia-
tion so well that you could live
next door to a nuclear power plant
such as San Onofre for 20 years
before receiving as much radiation
as from a chest x-ray.
What about sea water used to
cool condensers at the San Onofre
Nuclear Plant? What is the result
when this water is returned to
the ocean? Nineteen surveys con·
ducted over the past seven years
at San Onofre have revealed no
adverse effects on the marine
environment.
Protecting the environment-the
land, the sea, the air-is of prime
importa!)Ce to Edison. And we
sincerely believe that nuclear
power plants can help us do it.
They are a dependable source of
low-cost power-and a clean
source of power, coo.
