Q . Phoenix, Ariz. "Will anyone be
saved during the Tribulation? Are
there those who will be given a
second chance lor salvation dur-
'"8 th1 s time if they have heard the
Gospel before?"
A. The answer to the first part ,
the question is, "Ye!l ."' On the last
part there is a great deal of divi·
sian among godly Bible students.
The Tribulation is known as Dan·
rei 's 70th week. It comes between
the Rapture and the Millennium,
then Christ appears the second
lime visi bly on the earth. The proof
of these people being saved is ·
found in Revelation 7 :1-15. In II
Thessalonians 2:1-10 we read of
that great masterpiece of decep·
li on known as the man of sin or
the son of perdition. He seeks to
lead people astray. We read of
God's judgment in that He will
send !hem strong delusion that they
<;hould believe the lie. There are
the multitudes who Will fo ll ow the
devil rather than God's truth. Many
believe that those living at the
time of the Rapture and w ho have
not received C hrist will have no
further opportunity for salvation.
We should realize the tremendous
urgency of the hour. The Saviour
could come at any time.
Q . Ocotillo, Calif. "Does one re ·
ceive the Holy Spirit when he is
born again (John 3:3) or alter-
wards (Acts 2:38)?''
A. We beli¢ve the Holy Spirit is
given the moment o ne is born
agttin. This is known as the bap-
tism of the Spirit. It is this w onder-
ful act which causes the transform·
at ion making us a "new creation"
In C hrist Jesus. There are many in~
fillings but there is only one "gift."
Someone has well said, "The more
we yie ld, the more He fills!'' This
is what is known as sanctification .
It is never a matter of getting more
of the Holy Spirit but rather letting
the Ho ly Sp irit have more of us.

those past, present o r future lead·
ers, the lord Jesus Christ is 100
per cent deity and 100 per cent
humanity. He is the second person
of the Trinity and is now at the
right hand of the Father. He is our
Saviour and Redeemer. The pro·
cess of making a god o ut of a mere
man is called "apotheosis." Our
faith is not like that at all. As fa r
as this report from South America,
we have no information. There al·
ways have been those who seek
to exalt themselves. Our position
should be whe re the Apostle Jo hn
was in his first epistle, "That which
we heard from the beginning."
The lord Jesus Christ is supre me;
He is pre-eminen t, there is no one
like Him. He is the c hiefest of ten
thousand. Blessed be His name!
Recently, in one of our Biola Col·
lege chapels, the re was a mission-
ary who to ld about an individual
in one of the South Sea islands.
The man had been an idol maker
and had a model for hi s statues.
Over the years, he decided that
maybe he would c hange the ap·
pearance slightly to see if anyone
noticed. It did not seem to matter
so he continued to experiment. It
suddenly hit him that if his hands
could make the idol and change it
without any dire effects he was
really as wise and as worthy as the
idols he fa shioned. Th is brought
h im to the proper assumption, "If
I have hands to make things, may·
be somebody else has hands and
has made me." It so happe ned th at
during this time there was another
individual being prepared here in
the Uni ted States to go out to that
particular area to present the Gos·
pel. When the missionary came to
the village his open ing comments
were, "I have come to tell you
.1bout the God who has made your
hands." That made such a tremen·
dous impact that the idol make r
was transformed. There was a re·
viva! which swept that particular
tribe. This po ints out again the fact
that man, either in his concepts of
God or that which he makes his
gods to be, cannot even begin to
compare to the person, the Son of
God Himself, the lord Jesus Christ.
