• ANOTHER LAYER OF GOVERNMENT
Government Is one commodity that Is
definitely not In short supply. We need
less of It, not more. So. why should we
get ourselves entangled with a brand
new venture, the Intergovernmental Co-
ordinating Council of Orange County?
Despite denials to the contrary, this
will produce the Inevitable bur-den of
another layer of government, and take
away another slice of local control. • • •
• PROPERTY OWNERS, WAKE UP!
The Newport Beach City Council Is
becoming more and more a government
without representation --as far as local
property owners are concerned. Of the
7 men on the Council, only Dick Croul
has voiced objections to the restrictions
being Imposed on the right to own property.
But one lone defender of property rights
is not enough to halt the controls that
are being enacted Into law, taking away
our rights bit by bit, and area by area.
First target was Balboa Island, now it
is Balboa, next will be Corona del Mar,
and Old Newport . • • unless property
owners finally w~Jal~to .. the~
Is . fll.cing us, and .llite Up• the fight to
preserve property rights . . • In a court
of law, U necessary. • • •

people also me! him, for that they
heard that h~ had done tlli!-miracle."
The foregoing \erses set forth
John's account n f the triumphal entry
of Jesus into Jeru~ah'm on that mem-
orable Palm Sunrlay. This rassal{e
may be compared with Matth~w 21 :1-
9; Mark 11 :1-10 ; Luke 19 :29-38.
The enthu~iam of the people on this
occasirm i.s to ~ rt'\O!(nized. The~e
pilgrims, who were on their way to
Mtend the Pa~sm·cr, "took the
branches o£ the palrn trees, and went
forth to meet him fJesus J, and
cried out, H•1sanna : RI C'sserl is he that
rnrncth in !he nam~ o! tht: l n rd.
eYCn the King of Israel." "Hosanna"
is a Hebrew term with the meaniDJ',
"Save, I pray (d. Putm 118o25).
It is intere1ting to note that palm
branches were commonly considered
as symbol• of triumph and rejoicing.
In Mark 11 :10 we read~ these words :
"Blessed be the kingdom of our
fa!her David, that cometh in the name
of the Lord : Hosanna in the highest."
Further, it should be noted that the
peOple who were with Jesus at the
time o f the raising of Lazarus kept
bt:aring wi tnt~s. Thus, no small part
of the enthusiasm demonstrated on
that hi storic day was r:lue to the
mighty sign , namt:ly, the raising of
Lazarus fr.om the dead.
THE COMING OF THE GREEKS
John 12 :20-27 reads as follows :
'' .\nd there were certain Grttks
among them that came up to worship
at the f~ast ; The same came there-
fore to Philip, which was of Bc:th-
saida of Galilee, and desi red him, aay-
