With a Clean Bottom . ' -~ LATEX HOUSE PAINT
FOR BOATS7
U this marlin could talk, he'd tell
you a thing or two about boat bot-
toms, topsides and brigbt work! He's
a real fighting machine, and your
boat bas to be tuned, trimmed, taken
care of and above all, be properly
painted and varnished,
And Sparkling Topsides!
Don't expect to fight the big ones
with a foul bottom and scroffy top-
sJdes. And don't think that flaky top-
sides don't cut down your boat's speed.
I've been fighting the big ones for
years, and do you know that I use
only Colony,. Late1< House Paint on the
topsides of my boats? Why? 1 save
money, and have found that they do
the job.
Now's the time to get your boat In
shape for winter storage. Colony.Latex
House Paint, months from now, when
you get ready for your fishing season,
will be easy to bring back to new life
with very little work. Proof of this Is
In the looks of my own boat.
A real Christmas gift would be a
Colony, Latex Paint job for the boat --

HO DELIVERY -HO DEED
Even If a deed Is properly executed, It doesn't become
effective until it's delivered to the buyer and accepted by
him. Take the case ot the 80 year old man who slgned,
sealed and admowledged a deed to his nephew and placed
It in an old tin bot: in his room . He died st.ortly thereafter
aod the cleed was discovered. In a contest with other heirs
over the property, the oephew lost because there had been
no dell very of the deed.
Until the deed ls delivered, title remains with the
seller and he may change his mind and destroy the deed
with Impunity. But once properly delivered and 2ccepted,
a deed passes title and cannot be revok.ed.
Your best protection In the area of deeds Is your lawyer.
He will see that U's properly drawn and u ecuted ami
properly protects you as far as his legal eye can see.
Adrtce: do-H-yourself tactics In thi s technical area could
tla.Ye horrendous results. • • • • •

SNOW WHITE'S
DWARFS
Like the 7 dwarfs, who competed for Snow White's affection,
our 7 Newport City Councilmen seem to fall all over them-
selves to keep our city manager happy. They figure that he,
like Snow White, can do no wrong.
For example, when the city administrators came up with
the wild idea of evicting some of our finest citizens from the
Marinapark mobilehome village, and turning their area into
another beach for the weekend revelers, the Council quickly
got in line. The fact that these people had invested more than
$1 million in their homes, pay the city $125,000 rent annually
and have lived there for many years, was overlooked. The
administrators had decided we need more tennis and volley-
ball courts and more public beach on our already-polluted
bay front. The bay is already unfit for swimming. The Marina-
park residents are being treated like suckers.
Now, to show how inconsistent they can be, Councilmen
are getting ready to renew the street-end beach leases on Lido
Isle at a very low annual figure (about $3,500). I have no argu-
ment with renewing the Lido Isle leases. We have plenty of
public beach now. U the state will just protect and maintain
what is still not private, there's plenty for everybody. And
we all know we don't need any more public beach in Newport.
But, why won't the Council apply these same arguments to
Marinapark? The people living there have bent over backwards
to try t o please the city and keep their homes. And the beach
there IS open to the public. They don't want a private beach.
They have offered the city a plan that would give the public
more tennis courts and aquatic sports areas. They have offered
to pay more on their lease. The city turns its back on these
solid citizens.
This is wrong. The seven dwarfs should start thinking of
what's best for the city and its residents, instead of chasing
away the Marinapark people, the American Legion and the
Girl Scouts. The dwarfs are treating some of Newport's finest
people as if they were suckers. We should insist that they
reverse their earlier decision and not evict these people.
• • • •
U you want t o know what it's like to be treated like a prince
or princess while you're shopping for good American-made
merchandise, stop by the store!
P.S. We're always talking about preserving historical land-
marks. Let's preserve some of our historic communities, too.
People who live in Marinapark have helped build the foundation
of our great town.

It is important this Christmas season that we come
once again to the Bible, and see what the Word of
God has to say concerning the birth of Jesus.
God'• Stat.,..ent Conc:ttmlng the Yl,gln Birth
The first prophecy of the birth of Messiah is given
in Genesis:, chapter 3. God, in speaking to Satan, said :
" ... I will pu.t enmity belwi'Pn thPP ""d the wo-man.
on.<l bet u:een thy 8t>ed and her tff'l'd : h(' Hhall bruise thy
hood. 1 the seed of the woman shall bruise the ser·
pent'!'\ head J and thou 1 Satan J Rhnll bruiHr hi.'f heel"
(Gen. 3 :l:'i) God spoke to Adam and Eve after they
rtisobeyed Him in the Garden of Eden, and made it
dear that there would come One who woulrt deliver
them from their s ins. That One i!'l the Messiah, who is
promised in this passage, the Anointed One, the God
r1f Heaven. According to this prophecy, He was prom
ised to come, not of a union of man and woman, but to
be born only of the seed of the woman. This is foreign
to natural p1·oge ny. Why is it that Jesus harl to be
born of the seed of the woman, to he born of a virgin?
Why is it Gorl had to come in the flesh. and to be born
as mentioned in this prophecy? Adam and Eve were
on earth in the human realm when they sinned. Goil in
His Omnipotence could not me rely defeat Satan on
thP level of His Omnipotence. The battle was lost on
earth in the realm of the human will, ancl the battle
could only be won where it was lost. A me1·e man could
never defeat Satan. GOO as God could not be just, and
defeat Satan on His God level, His Omnipotent leve l in
Heaven. Therefore, God had to become man, so that
Heuman could fight Satan and win the battle wfiere
it was lost-in the realm of the human will. And yet
God, in becoming man, could not come to the earth by
the union of man anct woman, because there woulrl
haq• been pa..-.sed on to H1m the Ptin nAtun! which was
alway~ pas...~ on through the natural union of man
Anrl woman. J~us when He wa1o1 bo1·n. as we see in
Luke. chapter I, was conceivt.>flnot of m1tn nnrt woman,
but of the Holy Ghost.
