• OUR SENATORS RATE ZERO
Keep this appalling bit of information
on tap when time comes to vote on our
2 U. S. senators. Both Alan Cranston
and John Tunney scored ZERO in the
latest political rating In the Review of
the News.
This periodic conservative Index Is
based on 10 key Issues In the Senate and
10 In the House. Senators and represen-
tatives are judged on their adherence
to the principles ·of national sovereignty
and Individual liberty as set forth In the
Constitution of the United States.
This sorry performance by our
senators Is matched by similar zero
ratings by Senators Kennedy and Brooke
of Massachusetts, Senators Humphrey and
Mondale of Minnesota, Senators Case and
Williams of New Jersey, Senators Pastore
and Pell of Rhode Island, There are
other zero scores, but these are enough
to show why our nation Is In deep trouble.
These "zero senators" are more inter-
ested In voting tax-giveaways to curry
favor with voters than with preserving
the fiscal solvency and survival of our
nation.
Here are some senators who deserve
your he_arUelt thanks for their patriotic

own Clare Burgener scored a reputable

wae obViously detthMd to serw •• a model for
the sntlre United States. But the people of New
York City threw 1. .monby wrench into the
aears When they first demanded a referendum
on the matter and then owiwhelminaly killed
the review board in the Noftmber 1966 ci«·
tlon.
Havina been soundly disaedited,lhe Civilian
Review Board idea dl•ppeared as fast as it had
aritcn. And II has remained out of qht for
narly a dteade. But Leftllt pt"ograms have a
habit of returning -especli.Uy when some
ambitious local politicians seek to attract the
attention of the national kingmakeu -IS the
citizens or Atlanta, Georpa are now discover-
ina.
The worst feature of a Civilian Review Board
is that it places "outsiders" bet~een the work-
ing policeman and his superiors. Once tn·
trenched, these p;>litical appointees can use
their power to haul any officer before them for
the slightest charge of milconduct or for alleged
"pollee brutaUty ," Fines, suspensions, de,
motions and other disciplinary ecUons quickly
become common, with the result that police
~officers become impotent, rtalizlnJ that dili,
pnt performance of their duty will result :n
trouble, not for any lawbreaker, but for them-
Jelves.
This pallcrn has unfokled so often that the
bte J. Edpr Hoover wu prompted to condemn

Even more damnina was the f .R.I. OfOcial
Report of September rs. 1964, on the numers
oua riots of that year. F.B.I.invntlptors found
that "where there is an outside civtl.tan review

Citizens who reel the need to file I arievanct
aplnst a pollctman have a number of avenues
for seeking justice. These range from a depart·
ment's own complaint division (they have a
reputation for severe treatment of offenders
within their ranks). to the msyor end the city
council or whatever elected bodies exist In his
community.
Wherever Civilian Rev~w Boards have been
·established, the morale and cffeetlvenesi of the
entire p:>lice for« has been dr11ticaUy di·
nUnishtd. It is not surprisins that , as fer back as
the 1930s, prominent Leftists and Communists
have consistently agitated for the creation of
these review boards. The late Dr. Bella Dodd,
long a member of the National Committee of
the Communist Party, stated that the idea for
Civilian Review Boards was even invented by
the Communist Party. •
Our police already have enough problems on
their hands with a generally hostile press,
~n ient courts and judges, bureaucratic federal
controls, ind an cscalatina crime rate. They
deserve the thanks and the backing of aU decent
and law--abiding citizens. One sure way to
provide such support is to JUirantee thaJ
Civilian Review Boards remain a discredited
thing of the past.

Read this chapter to · s.ee
what privileges had been giv-
en to this town. Many believed
in Jesus Christ, and there must
have been a very livina: and
Ytell-orpnized Christian
church. There 'fo'ere many in-
tcUectual people, and when
they were converted they
brought their magical hea-
then books and burnt them .
Ho w Paul loved this church!
When ht: knew that he would
not sec them again he asked
the elders of this church to
come 10 Miletus. How touch-
in& are the words he ~poke
to them.
We read about th is rarewell
to the Ephesian elders in Acts
20:17-38. We come to know
here that Paul had declared
to this church all the counsel
of God. They were well in-
structed and grounded in the
faith of Christ.
It was to this church in
Ephesus also that Paul ad-
dresses the rirst epistle writ-
ten in his priton in Rome. The
epistle to the Ephesians is
perflaps the 1reatest of hlt
writinp 1iving the revelation
or the mystery of the church.
Just . read a few ve11ta ia.

Paul speaks abo¥t thi1 lack

have no love it proriteth me
nothing." What really is meant
by our Lord speakr,g of "The
rint love"? In tht beginning
the church wu 1-raiting ror
the coming of Jesus Christ.
With a burning love of a
bride they were looking for
the rapture of th~ Church and
the great day of the mar-
riage of the Lamb.
This is the love the Lord
wants to find in H i1 church at
all times, even if He tarries a
tho usand or two thousand
years to come.
Lack of love for Jesus Christ
is a great sin because it puts
the Lord in the second place.
There is a very serious word
in t Cor. 16:22: "If any man
love not the Lord Jesus Christ,
let him be anatherea -that
meana cutled." Are we guilty
of this sin? Many wo rks -
and little love? Is there any
remedy for lAck of love? Jesus

PRESIDENT NIX
WRITE.S
I'm kind of proud of my letter
from President Nixon, and I'm cer-
tainly proud of the President who
wrote it.
The first time he went on TV
after the Watergate mess was first
uncovered, he promised to fire any-
body connected with wrongdoing. He
did.
He also said he would take re-
sponsibility for the foolish actions
of his '!Wderlings. He has done that.
Never 'before in history has any
president made public his most pri-
vate conversation with mem'bers of
his personal staff. Nobody should

have to do this, but our President had to do it to show that he is not
personally to blame for the mess that has 'befallen his administration.
He got us out of Vietnam, he's getting us out of the energy crunch,
and he'll steer the ship of state safely through the rocks and shoals
that are now endangering it.
One reason for our current energy crisis is a long-standing foreign
policy that the President inherited. The strong, wealthy Zionist lobby
in this countQ'~ has persuaded national policymakers that anything Israel
does is okay, even if it includes invading other countries and taking
over their land. Over the years, our blind determination to support
Israel, come hell or high water, has gotten us into quite a bind with the
Arab countries. It resulted in our oil supply 'being threatened. After all,
there's nothing that says the Arabs MUST sell their oil to us.
The President's emissary, Mr. Kissinger, is now patching up the
damage done by our Zionist state department.
Eventually, we will have the good sense to stay neutral in such stupid
wars as the Arab-Israeli mess. When you 'bet on the wrong horse, you
lose. And we shouldn't even have been 'betting. • • • • •
Down at the store, it's a safe bet you will get your money's worth
in high quality American merchandise.,
P. S. We've also got a petition at the store you might like to sign.
It calls for a state law forbidding weak-headed judges from giving pro-
bation to convicted felons who keep robbing and s hooting at people.
