The Rev. Thomas B. Noonan
presided. Named as officers were
Mrs. Manley G. Clark, president;
Mrs. M. C. Harris, vice-president;
Mf;s. Theodore Robins, treasurer;
Mrs. Paul Aughe, secretary; Mrs.
Thel[\la West, book reviews and
Mrs. J . A. Taylor, publicity.
Mrs. J . E . Burke was appointed
Sacristan of the church of St..
John Vianney, Balboa Island, with
Miss Stranahan, Mrs. Gilsen and
Miss Hughes as co-workers.
At the conclusion of the meet-
ing· refreshments were served by
Miss Hughes, assisted by Mrs. Gil-
sen and Miss &tranahan, Md a
social hour followed. •
The next meeting will be Feb.
5 at the home of Mrs. J . A. Tay-
lor, 113 Via Quito, Lido Ille.

Island chapel was presented to the

consecration, Sunday by Percx F .

ment. Other members of the com-
mittee were Ludwell C. Hilliard
and Clem · Christie.
On beh8lf of friends of t h e
Chapet Clem Christie presented
a new silver service to Rev. White
for consecrttijon prior to the ad-
ministration of the Holy4 SecrA-
ment. Mrs. Percy F. Baines, Sun-
day School ~uperintendent, pre-
sented a beautiful framed •picture
of Christ· The Shei>herd to the
chapel on behalf of the Sunday
school in recognition of the serv-
ices of Mrs. Edward Goodell who
organized and served• as first sup-
erintendent at the chapel.
The chapel, which is a branch of
Christ Churc}) by ·the Sea, the
local . Community Methodist or-
ganization, has recently been im-
proved and redecorated. There is
a growing attendance with new
members coming in with a stimu-
lating interest in the . work.
At the consecration service over
60 members participated in Holy
Communion. Dr. White, who is
on the retired list after long and
distinguished service, began work
with the chapel after he had seen
the Lake~ood Village c h u r c h
thro°:gh tfieir building program
and l!I ~ enthusiastic about his
growing chµrch "and its members
as ,they are about their pastor.
