·NumerologiSt Says 1953 Will Be Cru ial Year In History
Six yeara remain in which the people bf the world have an oppor-
tunity to recondle themselve-s to Understanding each other and try-
ing to aid each other to maintain peace. so says Elaine Whitney. num-
ben scientist of 330 Undo avenue, Balboa. "Anyone who has made
a study of numben knows that the last number on the Pyramids of Giza. near Cairo, Egypt, is 1953," she added.
Biblical prophecy, 1he says, point.a to a third phase of the war
ot nerves which nations of the world are now undergoing and. ahe
adds, "it may well be the beginning of the last war, the war between
Soviet Russia and the United States."
"That will be-the fu1fillment of the bond f friend.ship; a culmina-
tion of the Jaw of virbratlon and the law o attraction, which will
join in helping people to work together for he good of the world,"
amazed at some ofthe remarks she made about things to come.
The titian-haired numerologist, who was born December 5, under
the sign, Sagittarius, which denotes Fire, one of the four trinities
in the study of astrology, is like all Sagittarius people, reputedly
gifted with foresight and keen intuitions.

Safeway's Meat Counters
are Open on Tuesdays
(and every day except Sunday)
HERE IS WHY:
1. Many people need fresh meat in some form
every d ay as prescribed by their physicians
for specific health conditions.
2. Certain creeds and religious faiths may ob-
aerve a day other than Tuesday as their
meatleae day.
3 . Many consumers may find it necessary to
buy their meat on Tuesday for use on
Wednesday.
In having meat for sale every day Safeway is simply
fulfilling ita obligation to aerve the needs of all cus-
tomers_
In addition, Safeway believ"' that an important con-
tnl>ution will be made to cutting d own waste by
maintaining an even ftow of perishable foods Crom
t>roduoer to consumer. For.it.I p&rt. Safeway intends
to wholeheartedly cooper<1te with President Truman's
program by doing" everything poosible to •eliminate
spoilage: and wuie in it.a store. and warehouses.
Cloaing the 111oreo or withholding food fiom ule on
any businE9s day would simply mean an atra storage
period for perishable foods wbich in tum would in-
cnue the amount of wute and spoilage.

If you have ro disconnect the radio ro plug in your
vacuum sweeper, or keep one corner of a room in the
dark because there's no place ro plug in a lamp, you
have a traffic jam. And it can't be solved with a net-
work of cords, because trailing cords are unsightly
and dangerous.
A better way is ro provi de enough outlets ro ease the
co ngestion. Your appliances will work bett er and more
efficien tly. You 'll have fe wer fu ses to replace. You can
.arrange your furniture the way ~ou want il You'll
have a n~ater, safer and more livable home.
The future holds even more for you in· el ectrical con-
venience. So you'll be wise ro plan for it.now. Be sure
your home plans include enough electrical outlets for
present and expected lighting needs. Cali your nearest
Ediso n office for advice on adequate wiring.

That universal attitude expl ai ns a good dea l of
the debate over prices these days. The workin g man
kicks like a steer when he has to pay $3.50 f or a

in favo r of a wage rate that niay be double or more
wh at he earned in 1941. Th e farmer ye ll s, "Rob-·

see a nyth ing \Yrong with reco rd prices for meat an~
grain. And , fin ally, the real estate ma n regards his

sees how little food a f ive-doll a r bill wi ll buy-and
the n goes out t o se ll houses for $20,000 that would

The Newport Harbor ~rid
dled t hrough the cen ter of-the
line with injuriee--wlll go onto
Davidson Field Friday night at
7 :30 wi tll one consuming thought
in their minds: a win against the
mighty Fullerton Indian! would
be glory enough t o mor e t ha n
make up for the two close dects·
ions they've dropped since their
last home game.
With BUI Brownie out for the
season with a broken IE'g, the
possible sidelining of stellar tackle
Bob Killefer an d first s tring cen-
ter PE'te Noune leaves the Sailor
forward wall looking like Achilles'
heel without a Bluejay pad iJ1
sight.
Killefer and Nourse are both
nursing leg injuries suffered in
last wee.k's brawl with Orange:
Unless either or both pull a mirac·
ulous recove ry, Dick Balch will
start at tackle and Armando Mo-
naco will go a t center.
Another possible change in the
line, anticipated by Coach Wen-
dell Pickens, is Dave Patterson
starting at right tackle in place
of Bill \Veatherwax. "Patterson
has shown a lot of zip and en·
thusiasm ," Pick !'aid after prac-
tice> yesterday. "If he keeps it u p
he'll get thf' call over Weather·
\Vax."
"Gibbons is go i n g to pass
a2a inst Fullerton", he \vent on.
"\-Ve're goi ng Jo turn it on. If we
can gc>t this one. it'll really be a
shot in the arm. All the coaches
picked the Indians as the team to
bea t bC'fore the season started."'
The Indians arc being coached
this )'ear by Dick Spalding, for-
merly assistant at Fuller ton Jun·
ior college. The experts are about
unanimous that the game next
\\.'eek between fuUerton and Santa
Ana '''ill decide the championship.
, That's \\"hy the T ars are primed
ror Friday night. They can't wait.
'fht>y \vant to ha\'e a hand in the
decision this wee k .
