prepare all phases of the program
they are staging for the Easter
week crowds . The Bob Hope
broadcast at the high sctiool l.s
all arranged, the after-show at
the Rendezvous will go off as
scheduled. and all the events for
Monday through Thursday will be
presented as described to the stu-
dents a.t the meeting ot high !Chool
and college representatives here
last Saturday.
The events will begin at 7 :30
p.m. Monday with a wienie bake,
record dance and ''Miss Easter
Week" queen contest at Newport
Bee.ch north ot the pier. The next
afternoon a swimming contest will
be held at the Balboa fun zone
followed on Wednesday afternoon
with a talent show at the Balboa•
theater and a street dance at
Marine avenue and Bayside drive.
Thursday will feature a volley-
ball contest at 2 p.m.. on the Co-
rona del Mar beach to be followed
by an orchestra dance to be hekl
at 8 p.m. that day at the same

on figures in the city water de-
partment, there are 3884 people
residing in Corona del Mar.
City Oerk C. K . Priest reported
in response to inquiries from that
community, that there are 1079
water meters ln the Corona del
Mar area. The accepted ratio of
population figures is 3.6 persons

a recruiting a.nd training program
which has now reached a point
where we have 22 reserves trained
and uniformed and ready to help
patrol the city Easter week. Many
ot these men are capable of doing
all phases of police work wit~ut
being accompanied by a regular.
They have had four hours of in-
struction every Sunday morning
for the past four and a half
months and have put in this time
without any pay. as they are paid
only when called out for duty.
They all have otqer occupations
and being a reserve officer la a
spare time bobby.
The reserve officers receive a
total of about $3,500 per year for
pa.Id work for the police depart-
ment, most of it going for Euter
week. Even with the e~nse for
