Officer Hayes treated his family.
Trott flagged down Hayes Thurs-
day afternoon. and the pdlceman
drove Trott, his wife , and year-old
son, Jeffrey, who had just severed a
finger. to Hoag Memorial H06pital.
While en route and after they were
there Officer Hayes reasaUN!d the
frantic pm-ents.
The accident occurred at the Co-
rona del Mar home of Trott's par·
ellts Wind blew a door abut, sever-
ing the boy's finger
