But I thought of themi and wine· ed. the other day when beard the
Everly Brothers' tatest recording.
The title of the song is "Mary
Jane."
Its lyrics contain this observa-

'l'1he E\wly Brothers are among
this natton•s top teen idols.
And Mm-y Jane, as any teen-ager
and cop knows, translates into
Span.lab,. ''Marijuana."
No, rve got nothing funny to say
about that.
* A few months ago, you may re-

Liz and Richard Burton's unlisted
pbooe number in Paris, according
to UPI. wen, John Dean, who is curri-
culum director for Newport schools,
went to Paris this summer and tri·
ed dialing FERPAT 065-117.
That was the number I g<>t from
UPI.
But it isn't. says .Johcl, the Bur·
ton's number.
"The operator told me there's
no such telephone exchan~." he
reports. "And it cost me a dime to
find out.''
So I owe him a dime.
I just hope he was going to Paris
anyway I wouldn't want to get
stuck for that tab.
