HO"t;V to catch a reco~ white sea bus, the May picnic for handi·.
capped children, Art's Landing and curreM fashions are tofics of con·
vtvial conversation to be heard at tfle Tbunday, March 2 , luncheon
in Balboa Bay Club.
. Why? Because Newport Harbor Lady Anglers will pre6ent
their 18th annual fund·raising Prelude to Fishing Faahion Show at
this time. .
Of course, soon after the gala, fishing season will open.
But, the fishing femmes will drop their rods and reels in May
to entert.ain handicapped children with the traditional picnic. Pro-
ceeds from the ~hion luncheon will underwrite expenses for the
picnic and the remainder will be given to other cftarities, announced
MI'6. Olm W. Smith, president.
Festivities will begin with an 11:30 a.m. social hour, with lunch
scheduled at 12:30.
Styles, from mod to elegant. wtl1 be fumished by GKC Women's
Apparel of Fashion Island and will feature such well·known design-
. ers as Teal Traina, Larry Aldrich, Rebecca and Geist. Commentator
and coordinator will be Mrs. Glenn Cbrfste~n.
As an added attraction, fishing "rags" to frills will be modeled
by club members, the Mmes. Thom11 Bell, Robert Brytan, Ralph Fore,
Allen Klingensmith and Jim Williams. ·
Show chairman Mrs. John Walker is being Msisted by the Mmes.
William Lactmlmyer, FAward Baldwin, Louise Hood, Hank Holcomb,
Frank Keeler and Lois Chambers.
Members ol N~ Hamor ~y Angle~ always know when
the fishing ~ .'is approaching because their prelude to the
season ls a ~ -fasblon show.
Included in the numerous door prizes, donated by area mer·
chantl!, are a round-trip ticket for two to San Franci5co, and two va·
cations for two at Lii Vegtis hotels.
