NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at 7:00 p.m., a public hearing will be
conducted in the City Council Chambers at 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach. The City Council of
the City of Newport Beach will consider the following application -
Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance — Amendments to the Zoning Code and Local Coastal Program
revising the City's regulations pertaining to Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) to conform with
Government Code Section 65852.2, as amended effective January 1, 2017. Specifically, the
amendment would establish regulations permitting the development of accessory dwelling units in
single-family residential zoning districts. On June 8, 2017, by a vote of (4-1), the Planning
Commission of the City of Newport Beach recommended that the City Council adopt the proposed
amendments.
The project is statutorily exempt from environmental review under the California Environmental
Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15282(h), which states that "the adoption
of an ordinance regarding second units in a single-family or multi -family zone by a city or county to
implement the provisions of Sections 65852.1 and 65852.2 of the Government Code" relating to
"granny" housing and "second unit ordinances" are exempt from the requirements of
CEQA. Similarly, the ministerial approval of ADUs would not be a "project" for CEQA purposes, and
environmental review would not be required prior to approving individual applications.
All interested parties may appear and present testimony in regard to this application. If you challenge
this project in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you raised at the public hearing or
in written correspondence delivered to the City, at, or prior to, the public hearing. The application may
be continued to a specific future meeting date, and if such an action occurs additional public notice of
the continuance will not be provided. Prior to the public hearing the agenda, staff report, and documents
may be reviewed at the City Clerk's Office, 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach, California, 92660
or at the City of Newport Beach website at www.newportbeachca.gov. Individuals notable to attend the
meeting may contact the Planning Division or access the City's website after the meeting to review the
action on this application.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, July 25,
2017, at 7:00 p.m., a public hearing will be conducted in the City
Counal Chambers at 100 Crvic Center Drive, Newport Beach. The City
Council of the City of Newport Beach will consider the following
application:
Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance —Amendments to
the Zoning Code and Local Coastal Program revising the Cttys
regulations pertaining to Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) to conform
with Government Code Senian 658521, as amended effective January 1,
2017. Specifically, the amendment would establish regulations
permitting the development of accessory dwelling units in single-famity
residential zooing districts. On June 8, 1017, by a vote of (4-1), the
Planning Commission of the City of Newport Beach recommended that
the City Council adopt the proposed amendments.
The project is statutoniy exempt from environmental review under the
California Environmental Quality Act f"CEQA`) pursuant to CEQA
Guidelines Section 15282(h), which states that "the adoption of an
ordinance regardmg second unity in a single-family or multi•fam0y zone
by a city or county to implement the provisions of Sections 65852.1 and
6SBS21 of the Government Code' relating to 'granny" housing and
"second unit ordinances" are exempt from the requirements of CEQA.
Similarly, the ministerial approval of AOUs would not be a "project" for
CEQA purposes, and environmental review would not be required prior to
approving individual applications.
All interested parms may appear and present testimony In regard to this
application. If you challenge this project in court, you may be limited to
raising only those Issues you raised at the public hearing or In written
correspondence delivered to the City, at, or prior to, the public hearing.
The application may be continued to a specific future meeting date, and
N such an anion occurs additional public notice of the continuance will
nor be provided. Prior to the public hearing the agenda, staff report, and
documents may be reviewed at the City CkWs Office, 100 Civic Center
Drive, Newport Beach, California, 92660 or at the City of Newport Beach

meeting may contact the Planning Division or access the Crty's website
after the meeting to review she action on this application.
