Attached are approved plans and calculations for the proposed temporary dewatering at the above -referenced site. A one-
story basement excavation is proposed for the site. The basement plan is on the attached drawing. The soil conditions are
typical beach sand found in Newport Harbor.
It is proposed to lower the water table approximately 5.5 feet below the finished basement floor elevation.
The calculations are performed using a proprietary one -layer computer model based upon the Theis Equation. No
permeability data was available so we used our experience in the area. Water flows can vary widely so we cannot guarantee
the final water production.
The design uses 25 jetted well points, two-inch diameter, approximately 10 feet deep and assumes the water table is at
elevation +5. The wells are assumed to be at elevation +5. There can be minor settlement of nearby structures associated
with dewatering due to pore pressure increases. Only lowering the water 5.5 feet will minimize settlement. The dense
Newport Harbor sand also minimizes settlement. Adjacent structures within 50 feet of dewatering wells should be
monitored during construction. If settlement at any point exceeds one-half inch, mitigation measures may be required.
The attached design is approved for use at this site.

him to remove the dewatering system ASAP. Currently, he is scheduled to remove the beach underground dewatering

Did you notice any smell coming from the discharge pipe? We also received a complaint about odor from the water

Rodi will contact code enforcement (John Murray) regarding the dewatering pipes being removed no later than
7/14/17. Any on -site issues, he will still need to clear up with Code Enforcement. Please make sure that the pumps are

ask for drop dead date of when he'll have the pipe removed from the beach. I'm still waiting for his reply. If gives me a

I stopped by today at about loam and spoke to Rafael, AB Construction On -site Foreman. They are currently
working on the grade beam excavation and plan to install waterproofing this week and place concrete shortly
after. He gave me Kirk's, General Contractor, phone number, 714-493-4212. I called, left a voieemail message
and waiting for him to call me back with a schedule to remove the dewatering system.
