Company of California in Sacramento, California on January 2, 1868; and on May 9, 1868, ceremonially issued the company's first
policy to former California Governor, LelandStanford, the company's first president; and
WIMREAS, within a few decades, (Pac fic Mutualgrew from a small West Coast life insurer into a national organization 6ased in
San 'Francisco with multiple products and services to meet customers' needs, despite widespread economic panics; and
WN1REAS, Bac fic Mutual overcame the destruction of its headquarters in the 1906 San `Francisco earthquake 6y relocating to
Los Angeles used its State -required reha6ifitation from 1936 to the 1950s to build a stronger organization, and pursued innovative
approaches to expansion after moving to Newport Beach in 1972; and
U&I? EAS, the Company became a nationally recognized premium 6rand-known for its customer service and financial strength as
well as its whale icon -after transitioning to (Tacifi'c Life Insurance with a mutual holding company structure; making strategic
moves to broaden its life insurance, asset management and retirement solutions products and services; and acquiring and investing in
subsidiaries Bacifi'c Life Re andAviation Capital Group; and
TVJaRMS, during the past 33 years, the Bacifi'c Life Foundation has given more than $100 million to nonprofits and community
service efforts, reflecting the Company's commitment to the communities where its employees live andwork and
