ABSTRACT -
Per Section 1102 of the City Charter, the City Manager is to submit the budget to the
City Council at least thirty-five days prior to the beginning of the fiscal year, July 1. After

because this action will not result in a physical change to the environment, directly or
indirectly; and
b) Schedule a public hearing of the City's Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2018-2019
on June 12, 2018, and direct the City Clerk to publish a notice of said hearing in
accordance with Section 1102 of the Newport Beach Charter.

The Fiscal Year 2018-2019 proposed budget is balanced, but subject to change based
on Council's final recommended action.

During the regular Council meeting on May 22, 2018, staff recommends that Council set
the date for the public hearing to be June 12, 2018, during the regular Council meeting.
The City Council shall conduct a Public Hearing as previously noticed. After hearing
public comment, the Council shall adopt the budget at the June 12, 2018, meeting.
