Panicked by the sight of two spade winners on the table. Weat decided it was time to go aft.er dia· monds. A grateful declarer won the 1aclt. reentered dummy with the ace of hearts and dUcarded the two dub loeers on the hich spades to land the pme with an overtrick. Shifting to a diamond aft.er de- clarer's diacard was an instinctive rather than a logical move.
