Bonnie Hood commutes from the Newport Beach home she shares with 'her husband to operate the J lodge. Her caretaker, Rudy Manuel, is also shot while in her bedroom in the earfy morning hours . • Oct. 13, 1990: Construction worker Bruce Beauchamp is arrested on • suspicion of killing Hood and wounding Manuel. Oddly, Beauchamp worb for Hood's husband, Jim, a successful shopping center developer. Beauchamp admits he was in Camp Nelson the night of the shooting but denies involvement •March 29, 1991: Beauchamp is found innocent of murder following a trial laced with cooOiaing testimony. • ~rch 2, 1992: Jim Hood shoots Beauchamp to death at Hood's Fontana office.
