What do you bid now?
A • Alt.bough your aide almost cer-
tainly does not. have an eighkard
spade fit, a reverae bid or two
spades is at.ill the eaaielt way to
describe your hand -your au.it is a
little weak for a jump t.o three
heart.II, which is no longer forcing
anyway. When you rebid your
hearts on the third round, partner
will know you have a strong 4-6 m

What action do you take?
A • We don't think it will be disas·
trous if you elect to bid three no
trump, but your best result could .
come from a penalty double of any-
thing the opponents bid. To enlist
partner's cooperation in extracting
that penaJty, redouble now. You can
alwa}'1' bid three no trump on the
next round should North pass
West's run-out.
