But as last summer wore on, my enjoyment of jogging began to wear out. J still ran with my daughters, but I frequently told them to continue without me. Something just did- n't seem right with my right leg. At first, l attributed it to being cramped m a crowded car for 400 miles. After d tew days rest, J tried running again but, within rrunutes, I was walking. I took DlOre time off but then competed in a triathlon with my daughter, Kelly. I could barely walk for days afterward, but I assumed it was 1ust be<'ause I had given my all to the race. After a few more days of rest, I put on 1hy trusty shoes and tried again Once .again I felt a tight pain with each step. :1}lis wne r figured that it must be -Oecause my shoes were old and needed to be replaced • Three days later, I tried again with new ~oes. but sometlnng still hurt l waited a :week before tutting the pavement again, &it I.stopped within rrunutes. I finally .adnutted that sometlung was clearly wrong ~at wouldn't take care of itself. I had heard practically th11t same .. phrase voiced by a friend who suspected i er teendge daughter was mvolved in S'ome destructive behavior. I am calling about the LlttJe League baseball lights Friday dila Saturday nights and whether we should be able to hold makeup games ("Council calls up decision on lights,• Feb. 10). 1 have been involved in the Little League for many years, and the unpact ot th.is is very mirumal. Only makeup games would be held Friday and Saturday nights. The lights really can·t be Uothering dnybbdy very much, and the games would not go very late into the everun~ -only about 8 or 9 p.m. It really shouldn't unpact anybody.
