that limits homes to two stories, according to an
agenda report.

The new record eclipsed the

port, the world's No. 1 women's tennis player, main-
tained her stranglehold on the field Sunday, dis-
patching .Venus Wllliams in the finals of the Ba11k of
the West Classic at Stanford University, 1-6, 6-2.
The victory improved Davenport's record to 7-1
over Williams. The last time the two met on the
courts was at the Australian Open where Davenport
was a 6-4, 6·0 winner in the quarterfinals.
It was the 23rd career tournament victory· for
Davenport, the reigning Wimbledon champion,
who has n9w chalked up a 351-111 career singles
record, including a 33-5 mark this year. Davenport's
next start is in Manhattan Beach at the Acura Clas-

there, as well, against an antiapated field of Marti-
na Hingis, Monica Seles and Mary Pierce, among
Davenport, who eliminated Amy Frazier on Sat-

extended into a tiebreaker m the first set.
She had three services aces over the course of the
match and broke Williams' serve three times, suffer-
ing a seIVice break herself once.

•1 still have people coming

ber Jack Errion: He was one of
those guys that would do any-
thing for you," Sea King coach
Paul Ortis said. •You come to

When the smoke cleared on
Saturday, John Murphy scored
24 points, including six three-
polnters td lead the class of 1990
over the class of 1995, 53-40 for
the official, year-long "bragging
rights" of Eastside.
·we battled it out all day
today,• Murphy said. "But the
neat thing is that we're all great
friends getting an opportunity
to see each other again. Some of
these guys, I only see once a
year for this townament, so it's a
lot of fun for all of us.•
For the 90s, it's their third
championship title in the 11-
toumament history, coming
back from a semifinal loss last
year.
"Wlth our third win, we're
raising the bar on the rest of the
alumni," Murphy joked. "We
get to do the bragging this
year.•
John Paulsen added seven
first-half points for the 90s, but it
was the second half where 1990
pulled away.
The 1990s opened the sec-
ond half with a 16-4 run (11 by
Murphy), turning a three-point
struggle into a comfortable 15-
point cushion.
Joel Owen led the 1995
squad with 11 points, while nmm Quinn added nine and
Brett English bad six.
How did the 90s squad keep
their gas tanks full playing
games throughout the day?
•usually we full-court press
our oppo~ents the entire

we pressed only some of the
time and that seemed to help us
