"The average person we take
them to are the elderly people who
aren't able to make their own. Or if
they have Alzheimer's, they forget to
eat,· she said. "Or even someone .
who just got out of the hospital."
Each person, she explained,
receives two meals -one hot and
one cold -by 1 p.m. Monday
through Friday. The meals are tai-
lored to varying dietary needs,
indude juice or milk and always a
desert.
The best part of the job, F reder-
icksen said, is all the fpscinating
people she encounters.
Fredericksen and he r h usband
sold their physical therapy business
and retired, so she has plenty of
time to devote to Mob ile Meals

"I get to meet a lot of interesting

Costa Mesa Police Lt. Ron

Anaheim.

Smith
said inves-

board of directors hired
Meyers based on a bogus
resume' that stated he was a
JAG officer, had-a law degree
from Oxford University and
earned graduate degrees from
the Univemty of Michigan.
Investigators are also wad-

SrOith said, adding that it may
take the department up to
three weeks to do so .
The board members fired
Meyers last month after bear-
iilg from pol.ice what they felt
was compelling evidence sug~
gesting possible fraud.
Meyers is scheduled to go
to trial in Klamath Falls, Ore.,
for similar allegations in mid-
June. In December, he turned
himself in to Anaheim police
after a Klamath County grand
jury indicted him. He posted a
bond to cover his $50,000 bail.
Klamath Falls police offi-

$8,500 from a nonprofit health
clinic serving migrant workers
by submitting phony expense

In their investigation, Costa

the Medical Board of

detailed timeline of Meyers'
string of alleged frauds in
Arizona, Washington, Oregon,
California and Washington

Published reports and law

that Meyers, since as early as
1969, has used a series of abas-

Somehow -and I'm try-

of a group of people less
likely to engage in street
