Newport Beach s Parent Help U.S.A. helps families through
creative communication, including puppet shows
T he puppets seemed almost lifelike.
There were no strings attached to their tall bodies -almost 3 feet long
The puppeteers were moving the puppets' hands and mouths to sUI1ulate
a dramatic dialogue.
The children could see that there were humans doing all the talking and acting .
Yet, they watched transfixed.
This puppet show revolved
around the prob! m of buUymg
in school. The central characters.
Eddie and Melarue, talked
about bow to deal with bulbe
and bow to help oul then
friend who wa truggling
against bulll .

EDUCATION FIRST
'M ost of them,
especially now,
have really l evel
heads on their
shoulders.
It's really neat to
watch them talk
about the colleges
they're going to
go to. It's a better
discussion than
"I 'm going to go
pro" because
their chance of
going pro is
pretty sl im.
They need to get
their education.
Then, if you want
to be a surf star,
fine, but get your
education first.'

There was a conllict Wlth another

We're Ughtly down from la t
