The 69-year-old does the grunt
work for them so they can have a
conventional shopping experience.
She sorts through the donated

Classy Seconds pnmarily serves
as a closet for women from Human
Opuons, an orgaruzauon deter-
mined to stop the cycle of domes-
Uc vtolence. Human Options runs
a shelter and long-term housing in
Orange County. Both locations are
undt.sdosed to protett the women
and children from their former
abusers.
Many of the shelter's residents
come in when they need an outfit
for a JOb mlerv1ew, or for career
wear.

flames. Newport Beach Flre Capt. Chip
Duncan said the door to the Weguard shack
was open and that the fire originated from 1
the UlSlde on the O.oor. He said the cause of
the flre was unknown. but burning trash
could be to blame. Vandals repoltedly set fire to a Weguard
stand at Orang Street and the beach Sal·
urday afternoon, accord.mg to a Newport
Beach police report.
Nobody was manning the post at the
wne of the fire.
A police officer responded to a call from
a nearby liquor store employee who irutial·
ly noticed the fire about 2:50 p.m. When lhe
officer arrived at the scene, the Weguard
shack was engulfed in flames from the plat-
