worthwb.De activity."
Finding time. though, is never easy.
The longtime Balboa Island resident. now
living in Laguna Woods, is also a boat
broker for Newport Beach's Orange Coast
Yachts. This year, that meant working as
an exhibitor at the Udo Yacht Expo dur-
ing the day on Priday, then going to the
Taste of Newport to pour wine in the
Mondavi booth that night
"The most notable thing, I think. is
how inaedibly busy it gets there," Kilk
said. "No matter what you're doing there
as a volunteer, if you're pouring wine, it's
just nonstop. Open a bottle, pour, pour,
open another. It's a very busy activity."
This year, Kirk is just one or more than
900 volunteei'i who make the Tuste of

showcases some of the area's best cuisine

"It made the event more com-

The event featured a lineup of

Aside from basic introductions

Mayor Unda Dixon. who sits
on the board of directors for the
senior center, outlined her previ-

acquiring a 15-seat van and
prompting an emergency educa-

Fire officials teach seniors. She
promised to continue working
for the city's mature residents
and said she planned to research
a program that would convert

Councilman Gary Monahan
said the best thing a council

funding.

that option liberally, if given the
