Obesu y is a metabolic, chronic, and progressive disease, with a significant generic
predi~po,ition. In fact it's very much like its ~morbid cowiru diabttes and hypertension; a
major difference of course ii. that obesity cannot be hidden from those around you or the:
mirror m front of you. Chronic and progressive disC2.scs need in most GasC$ pharmacotherapy,
ie: presuiption medication as an integral part of rrcauncnt for control not cure. And obesity is
no exception. This disease obesity needs to be taken seriously, treated seriously, and most
import.mt treatc:<l with respect.
