"We were subjected to being
deprived of amenldes," Mindy
Steams said. "It was very hot We

There was no hot water, and
someone had to pedal a bib to
run the water for a shower.
'We had to eat things that I
don't believe animals would eat,"
Glenn Steams said.
Even before the reality show,
the Steamsea had something of a
storied past.
Glenn Steams came 10

They heard about the reality
show from one of GJenn Steams'

An earlier staff report proposed a pennil
fee of up to $20 and an annuaJ inspection
fee of $100 to $150. A restaurant could be

Opposition from restaurants may not
come tonight. but it ~ expected when the
council d.lacusses how much fees should
be.

get there. On Monday, Archibald's
etght petite pilgrims made "stone
soup" with vege~les -drawing
their inspiration from a book they
read in ~ -and constructed
macaroni netllaces.
Students took turns adding .
chopped celery. carrots, onions and
other veggjes to two pots. Today
they'll add the potatoes. which look
similar to the stones found In the
book, Archibald said.
The macaroni necklace project was
designed to be a ~c math exerdse,
Archibald said She hoped they'd pick
up on repeating color patterns while
making their nediaces.
