City Hall, Newport Beach, California. November 6th,1913.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in adjourned
session at nine oclock A.M. November 6th,1913.
President Hermes called the meeting to odder;and roll was called
showing.there were present trustees: Albert Hermes;W.K.Parkinson;an&
C.H.Way.- Absent trustees:S.L.Collins;and R.J.Stauss.The last named
arrived after roll -call and took part in the proceedings.
Acommunication from the Banning Co was read notifying the City to stop
dumping garbage on their property.
On motion of trustee W.K.Parkinson,seconded by trustee C,H.Way and
carried;the clerk was instructed to reply to The Banning Co advising
that no more refuse would be placed'on their land and that )he place
used here -to -fore would be cleaned up.
The committe,on securing of a place to dump garbage,reported that a piece
of ten acres of land could be had for the purpose,at a price of $300.00
per acre:and recommended that a recess be taken and tie Board look over
the property.
The bond of Chas H.Wallaee as Recorder,in the sum of 0500.00 with Lew
H.Wallace and W.A.Cornelius as sureties,was offered and having been It
approved by the City Attorney as to form: it was apprwed,accepted an�
filed,by motion of trustee d.H.Way. seconded by t ustee R.J.Stauss and
carried.

The oath of office was than taken by Mr;Walla as Recorder of the City
of Newport Beach.
Recess was then taken for the purpose -•df inspac ting the land that was
needed as a refuse deposit. -
Deeting was again called to order at two oclock P.M-: after recess,as
referred to above had been taken.
Moved bytrustee W. K. Parkinson, seconded by trustee R.J.Stause ani - c7rrL*v%_
that the ten acres of land In inspected be purchased,at a figure not
exceeding $300.00 per acre, for less if possible.Rol1 call was ordered
and showed,Ayes:Trustees W. K.Parkinson,R.J.Stauss,C.H.,4ay and Albert
Hermes. Noes:None. Absent :trustee:S.L.Collins.President Hermes declared
motion carried.
The matter of street to west city limits was discussed at some length
and President Hermes was named a committe of one to ascertain from the
contractors . building the Hunting -Beach wharf the approximate cost of
such a trestle as would be required if street was established on the
north side of the So,Pac. right of -say.

Moved %y trust0e/SxXxWxILxthat the street now known as Bay Ave from the
S.P.right of way to 38th street and as.Lake,Ave from there on to 46th
street be hereafter known as Townsend Ave for the entire length of said
street. Motion seconded by trustee C.H.way and carried.
Moved by trustee C.H.Way,seconded by trustee W.K.Parkinson and carried
that a committe be appointed to suggest namas for the streets of the
entire city.President Albert Hermes and trustee W.K.Parkinson were named
as such committe.
Moved by trustee C.H.Way seconded by trustee R.J.Stauss and carried, that
adjournment be taken to 2.30 P.M.Saturday Nov Sthy1913.�tJAdjourned.
