The 3oard of Trustees of the City of Newport 3each met in regular
session 2:30 P.M. date and place above shown.
President Hermes called the meeting to order; and the roll was called
showing there were present trustees Albert Hermes, S.L.Collins, 71.K.
Parkinson and C.H.77ay, Absent R.J.Stauss.
W- inuets of the meeting of March 2nd, 9th, 23d, and 30th, were read
corrected and approved.
Standing committies no reports.
Reports of the heads of the Departments for March waee read, on mot'.=--- -
of trustee C.H.77ay seconded by S.L.Collins and carried reports were
accepted and ordered filed.
The committie appointed to purchase the filing furniture for the vault
reported, that purchase had been made, at a cost of $253.00.
Committie of the whole reported having gone over the ground with
Mr, Mook on the new water pipe line; and agreed on the route.
Communications read and referred to proper order of business.
Bids on public.toilets as follows; Jumper and Goodcell. $2108.00
Deardorff and Dimmock $2157.00, on motion of S.L.Collins seconded by
trustee C.H.71a,y and carried, contract was awarded to the lowest
bidders Jumper and Goodeell.
Resolution of intention relative to side walk about the pool, on
motion of trustee C.H. 7a seconded by trustee S.L.CcllirS that
resolution of intention 37 be placed on final passage, Roll was
called showing, Ayes; Albert Hermes, i7.K.Parkinson, C.H.7ay and
S.L.Collins, Noes; none Absent; R.J.Stauss, and carried.
Moved by trustee S.L.Collins seconded by trustee C.111.7ay and
carried that the City Engineer be instructed to put in a permanent
bench mark on the side walk at the Bank corner.
Resolution of intention - - -- abandoning triangular piece near
wharf, read for the first time, laid over.
Resolution ordering the construction of bulk head from the
S.P.wharf wee terly along the ocean front to 36th, street, was bro't
up, and the Engineer was instructed to secure data on same.
On motion of trustee S.L.Collins seconded by trustee 77.K.Parkinson R
that permission be granted to the M;elrode Mesa Association to
build bridge across the Santa Ana River, and carried.
On motion of tnnstee S.L.Collins seconded by trustee '7.K.Parkinson
that all bids submitted on the street lighting system be rejected,
and checks returned to bidders, and carried.
New Business;- Application of '. ?.T.Trickey for transferr of business
license to A.E.Edell read, on motion of trustee C.H.,ay seconded by
Trustee S.L.Collins and carried that transferr be made.

Trustee SL.Collir_s requested permission to run his power boat on
the bay without muffler, motion of S.L.Collins to repeal muffler
Ordinance, lost for -want of a second.

Application of Mcycr Grau for liquor license laid over for one week.
On motion of trustee C.H.7ay seconded by trustee S.L.Collins that
all demands be allowed and warrants drawn, and carried.
On motion of trustee S.L.Coliins seconded by trustee C.H.71ay and
carried, that the Cit,yy Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids
for road oil 4e000 1a-,a quantity more or less.
Motion of trustee C.II.may seconded by trustee S.L.Collins that the
Board adjourn to next meeting at 2:P.M. Monday April 13th, 1914.
