The Board of Trustoos of th.e City of Xo; °fort Beach met in adjourned
7.30 P.;.; -Date and place above shown.
President W.L.Parkinson called the meeting to order and roll was
called shor:i.g there ::cre present trusteos ;'S.K. Parkinson; S.R.Jumpor;
E.A.7tobincon;C.H.77ay and G.P.':ilson. None absent.
Minutes of the meetings of July 29th;and of Aague.t 3rd;ver^ recd and ,
approved-.

business.
Unfinished Business: Under the head of unfinished busiross further
;o aideraticn of Ordinance rf'102 entitled as follo::s:
An ordinance of the city of Newport Beach providing for the issuance
and sale of the bonds -od said city in the gum of toonty thous-nd
dollars (."j20.000.00) for the acquisition and construction of a
municipal improvcment,to- :'.t:an �;lcctr•ic street lighting syste ;
drescribing the form of such bonds,fixing the rate of interest to be
paid thoreon,the place and Catc for tho payme -t of such Load, and
t- t.crest,and further providinE a sin'tin.- fund fc;:, t',c rayc.ont :;nd
redemption of said bonds,principal and interest.
:s r. taken up for final consideration; after debate and discussion
trustee G.D.7ilson moved,seconded by trustee C.H.'7ay and carriod
that Ordinance #102.5o placed on final passage- and the clerk
instructed to call the roll. Upon the call of the roll the follo:Jing
need members of thoBoard of Trustees voted in favor of the passage
:id adoption of said ordinance,to- wit:trustees '.7.K.Parkinson;
S .R.Jumper;H.A.Robinson;C.H.'7cy and G.P.Wilson.ltore than two thirds
of all the members of the Board of Trustees having voted in favor of
the passage and adoption of ordinance j'102 the President of the '
Board of Trustees declared the same passed and thereupon signed and
approved the said ordinance.
The aerk was instructed to return certified check to E.M.thalmors,
deposited with his bid for street work, on notification by the
Supt cf Streets that bond in due form was on file with him.
City Engineer Webber presented figures shoving exact amount of out
and fill necessary on 31st to 35th streets oxceptinting the intor-
Seetions.Report wa',- returned to him for the addition of those figures
on motion of trustee C.H.'7ay,seconded b, trustee G.D.71ilson and
carried.
Th clerk was instructed to write the P.E.people asking1mg if further
action could not be had in the matter of easement over their right
of Tray from 30th street to western city limits.
Street Supt Barker, was instructed to take up with the same people
the matter of certain street crossings across their right of tray.
No::, Business: Marshal Pcrtor osked that business license #60 for ")5.00
against C.Peterson;and §65 for ")5.00 against Harding and Stone be
cancelled account discontinuance in both cases. Request granted and
esneollation ordered on motion of trustee C.14.;7ay,seconded by trustee
G.P.Wilson and carried. '
Moved by trustee S.R.Juir.per,seconded by trustee .- .A.Robinson and
carried that President Parkinson be authorized to sign an application
to the Pacific Light and Power Cc for the lighting of the Balboa
:ire hall.
Ordinance #103 being an ordinance of the city of Newport Beach
levying a property tax for the fiscal year 1914 -1915 was read for thhe
first time and on motion of trustee S.R.Jumper,seconded by trustee
H.A.Robinson Bad carried ryas passed to second reading.
Street Supt Barker reported that 16rs Neitz'vould sell the fraction
of a let needed to straighten out street foi• the $50.00 offered by
the city. On motion of trustee :;.R.Jum;jer,Seconded by trustee H.A.

Moved by trustee H.A.Robinson,seconded by trurtce G.P.-°ilson and
carried that Marshal Porter be instructed to obtain from city
electric inspector Joplin the necessary blanks used in his depe.rtmen
and turn same over to assistant inspector S.L.Collins.
On motion of trustee C.H. "lay,seconded by trustee H.A.Robinson and
carriod;Street Supt Barker was instructed to give special ctt(:ntion
to the matter of inspecting the street improvement work to bo d.onc
on the streets 31st to 35th inclusive.
Or Let? H. "lallace reported that a representation of the Board of Arwy
Engineers was to be at the Hotol Virginia,Long Beach on August lltii;
I and suggested that a commitce be appointed to wait on them in the
matter of calling thair attention to noaport Harbor project.Aftc:r
discussion it was decided that there was nothing to be gainod at t', ±�

Street Supt Barker reported that the alloy in rear of Sharps build....
was some four inches bolow grado ;and was instructed to have property
ownors file potition that same be brought to grade and prop --rly
surfaced ;whon acme action .could be taken.
