City Hall,Newport Boach,Cal.Octber 26th,1914.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in adjourned
session 2.30 P.M.date and ;laco above shown.
President ;7.i.Parkinson being absent it was moved by trustee H.A.
P.obinson,se'co'nded by trustee C.H.Nay and carried that trustee S.R.
umper act as president pro -tem.
Acting president S.R.Jumper took the chair and the roll was called
showing there Were present trustees S. R.Jumper;H.A.Robinson;C.H. *Vidy
and G.P.'Wilson. Absent trustee :V.K.Parkinson.
Unfinished business:- Street committee asked for more time in the
matter of sewer on Newport Ave and were given another week in which j
to investigate and report.
Deed from Henry Goodcell conveying to the city a portion of lot 19
block 4 Goudge Tract for street purposes was accepted.on motion of
trustee II.A.Robinson seconded by trustee C.H. ?ay and carried and the
clerk was instructed-to have said deed recorded.
The matter'of the Balboa Land and Water Comparys addition to their
pavilion without proper permit which was to come up at this time was
laid over to next meeting on motion of trustee H.A.Robinson,seconded
by trustee C.H.Nay and carried.
Ilea Business:- Electricians bond filed by B.Ross and W.L.Norton as
principals with J.McMillan and Albert Hermes as sureties,in the sum
of y500.00 was accepted and ordered filed on motion of C.H.PIay,
seconded by trustee H.A.R6binson and carried.
County taxes on the lot formerly owned by Josephine Kelly and sold
to the city since March first were ordered paid on motion of trustee '
C.H.iay,seconded by trustee G.P.7tilson and carried. '
Communication from the State Compensation Insurance Board was orders
filed.
Request from the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce that the City
stand hall' the expense of advertising ppamphlets now being put out
by that body. Amount ;106.50. Laid over to next meeting on motion of
trustee G.P.ilson, seconded by trustee C.H.'.7ay and carried.
Rt. uest of Mayor Mott of Oakland that amendment # 19 on the ticket
^t the coming election be endorsed visa filed on motion of trustee
C.H.Way,seconded by trustee'H.A.Robinson and corriod.
Letter from H.S.Jayne of Anaheim asking about the moving bf dirt on
lots along streets in West Newport where streets are being improved
was referred to the City Attorney for answer.
Trustee H.A.Robinton reported for the Street Committee that that
portion of Newport Ave between the bridge and 30th street which had
been flooded by the high tides was being raised to put it above
high water..
City Engineer reported that Washington Street along lot 6 block B '
Bayside tract was infringed on by said lot.City Attorney Bishop was
instructed to inspect records and'report as to finding in the matter.
Moved by trustee H.A.Robinson,seconded by trustee C.H.Way and carried
that adjournment be taken sine- die.Adjourned.
