The Boa0d of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach met in regular
session 2.30 P.M.date and place above shown.
President W..K.Parkinson called the meeting to order and tho roll :•rrr.

The minutes of the meeting of Oct 26th were read and approvaj.
Reports of the heads of the various departments for the mcnLh of
October 1914 were read and on motion of trustee S.R.Jumor,:cccnrnu
by trustee H.A.Robinson and carried were accepted and filed.
Trustee H.A.Robinson reported in the matter of the severing or a
portion of Newport Avenue that his committee desired more time and
some was granted.
Various communications Mere read and referred to proper crder K'
business.
Unfi.ished business:- In answer to the invitation for bids on liar)
posts there was a bid presented by the F.O.En,strom Company a;•
follows: 136 lamp posts design Doric 7E as c.-lled fcr in spncificati
to be furnished for 14761.00 .ith the proviso that if this bid sac
accepted the city was to be allowed a credit of 12001.00 which ^cu l
have been the cost of the posts originally specifled,There being :n
further bids;after due consideratico it was moved by trustee C.H."'ay
seconded by trustee C.R %Jumper and carried that-the-bid of the F.C.
Engstrum•Company be accepted.
The request-of the local Chamber of Ccmmerce that the city pay out
of its music and promotion fund 1106.50;being half the amount pail
for advertising folderp9wa s granted en motion of trustee G.P.Tilson,
seconded by trustee C.H.Tst and carried. In this connection the
3oard went on reccrd as requiring a notice from the Chamber of Ccumcr ::
when expenditures of this kind arc contemplated in which thn City is
to be asked to participate.
In the matter of the Balboa Land and ' "later Company infrin3ing on thr,
bay front without securing proper permit:it was moved by trustee
G.P.Tilson,secondod by trustee S.R.Jumper that the City Attcruoy Lc,
instructed not to prosecute.Roll call was damanaod rGsulti�g rs
follows Ayes:S.R.Jumper;G.P.Wilson. Noes :V.K.Parkiison;H.A.Robi,jon ;
C.H.Way. Motion doclared lost.
Letter from Peter Pirsch & Cc giving instructions as to hoar to rci•J
the chemical tank reported in bad order was referred to the Tiro Nn
?later committee and the fire cheif.
Attorney Bishop reported in the matter of the records on the math
of Washington Ave that there was a variation of two foot betwotA f
records and the abutting property as it actually exists.
Resolution of Intention x=43 being a resolution of tha city of Nenoor
Beach locking to the opening of Ray Ave from 23rd stpoet to 30t',
street,•uas read for-the socond -time and on motion of trustoec H.A.
Robinson,secnided by trustee G.P.Wilson and carried aac put on

Newport Beach be procured.

carried that President Parkinson be authorized and instructs l tc

bean nomnleted.Street Supt J.E.Barker was instructed to notify them
that work had not as yet been completed and bond would be retained

Lpplication to the Pac6fic Light and Power Cc to furnish electricity'
for the lighting of the city barn was signpd by the President.
rarshal J.A.Poher requested the cancellation of the following !
business licenses as in each case the businecr had been discontinued;
