The Board cf Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in adjoui ^d
session 2.30 P.M.Dec 21st 1914.
President Parkinson called the meeting to order and roll call
sho.wed there were present trus. tees ;'N.K.Parkinson;S.R.Jumper;H.A.
Robinson, C.H.Way and G.P.': ilean.tab;e t none.
Minutes of. the meetings of Dec 7th,and Dec 14th,1914.were read and
approved.
Various communications were read and referred to proper order of
business.
Resolution ordering the opening of a street along the.south side cf
the P.E..right of way from 23rd to 30th streets was read for the
first time and on motion of .trustee H.A.Robinson,seconded by trustee
S.R.Jumper and carried was passed to second reading.
Ordinance u being an ordinance of -the city of New-port' Beach
providing for the opening of a street as covered by above resolution
was read for the first time and on motion of trustee H..S.Robinson
seconded by trustee S.R.Jumper and carried was passed to second read-
ing.
To act as a board of commissioners and apprizers in the above
proposed opening, of a new street the followinZ names were decid4d
on;C.S.Forgy;Lew H.Wallace;and A.N.Smith.
The letter from the Chamber of Commerce stating•that -the contemplai.e!
expenditure for the National Orange Show at San Bernardine would b,.
200.00 was considered and trustee S.R.Jumper moved that the City
appropiate out of its publicity fund 1125.00 to be disbursed through
the Chamber of Commerce for an exhibit at the proposed Orange Shoe.
Motiorn-spconded by trustee G.P.::`ilson. Motion Lost.
On motion of trustee S.R. Jumper, seconded by trustee G.P.'U lsor. and
carried the Clerk was instructed to write to G.L.Buebee,Land A.ent
of the P.E.Ry.ro informing him of the action of the Board in the
matter of the nrop'sed opening of a street from Alvarado to Main
streets at Balboa.. -Jaid "ietter and map of the proposed new street t.-)
be taken by the str�ot Bupt J.E.Barker to Mr Bugbee for a•personal
interview in the matter ,ad urge the hurryinZ of tile. promised
easement over that portion of the new street owned by the P.E.Ry.
The pro1.cz1t17n of L.O.Sr.alcs to handle the garbage of the entie cit
fora stipend of 1100.00 per calendar month was referred to the
Street Committee on motion of. trustee S.R. Jumper, seconded by trustee
G.P. ?dilson and carried.
Moved by trustee G.P.Wilson; seconded by trustee H.A.Robinson and
carried that the city appropiate .,100.00 from the promotion fund
to be disbursed through the Chamber of Commerce,for the purpose of
pagtie#pa.t -ing in• the• exhibit• a'. the National. Orange Show at San -
Bernardino..
Moved by trustee S.R.Jumperiseconded by trustee C.H.i'Jay and carried
that adjournment be taken to 2.30 P. M .Monday%Dec228th,1914.Adjourned
