The Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach met in regular
session 7.30 P.M.date and place above shown.,
President Parkinson called the meeting to order and the roll was called
showing there were present trustees W. K.Parkinson;S.R.Jumper;:1.A,Rob n_snn:a-." - °•
C.H.Way and G.P.Wilson.None absent.
Minutes of the meetings of July 6th andl2th 1915 were read and approved
Reports of the heads of, the various departments for the month of

July,were read and,on motion of.trustee H.A.Robinson,seconded by trustee
S.R.Jumper and carried were accepted and filed.
Various communications were read and referred to proper order of
business.
Unfinished business: The request'of J.T.Ferres to build a wharf on
the bay front abutting on lot 8 block L Balboa was granted and the
desired permission given on motion of trustee S.R.Jumper,seconded by
trustee C-.H.Way and carried.
This being the first meeting;of the board of trustees of the city of
Newport'Beach,after the day fixed in notice to show•cause why the
report of the commissioners in the opening of Bay Avenue from 23rd
to 30th streety,should not be confirmed;and certain objections
having been filed;they were laid before the City.Council and Monday
August 16th,1915.7.30 P.M.was set as the time for hearing the same.
The clerk being instructed to give the required notice to the
protestants as to the time of the hearing.The foregoing action was
taken on motion of trustee C.H.Way,seconded by trustee H.A.Robinson
and carried.
New Business: Request for permission to operate a skating rink in the '
East Newport Pavilion made by J.L.t'ralton,in conformity with requirements
of ordinance 110 was granted on motion of trustee C.H. "lay seconded
by� trustee G.P.Wilson and carried.
The requests of H.D.West,Mrs E.R.West and Ed Crowther to cross side -.
walks with automobiles to get into their property was granted with j
the proviso that in case damage occurred to the *8 walks that the
parties holding permit to so cross would at once/ o any necessary
repairs that might be required and have walks keept in good condition.
This was done on motion of trustee G.P.'Silson,seconded by trustee I
C.H.Way and carried. i

Demands #76 to #146 inclusive amounting to ;2698.91 approved by the
Finance committee were presented and were allowed and warrants
ordered drawn,on motion of trustee S.R.Jumper,se.conded by trustee
H.A.Robinson and carried.
The request of W.K.Parkinson for permission to cross side -walk with
automobile to get.into garage was granted with_the usual proviso as
to maintaining walks in good condition,on motion of trustee C.H.Way,
seconded by trustee H.A.Robinson and carried.
The petition presented by certain property holders of East- Newport
concerning the ordering in of a bulkhead or sea -wall along the East I
Newport tract was considered and returned to the petitioners for securing of
further signatures. I

Moved by trustee C.H.Way,seconded by trustee S.R.Jumper and carried,'
that the city engineer be instructed to furnish detailed plans, I
specifications and careful estimate of cost for a rock bulk -head or
sea -wall in accordance with plans furnished by I.F.Funk in reply to
advertisement for plans and specifications of April 10th,1915.
Moved by trustee S.R.Jumper,secended by trustee H.A.Robinson and
carried that adjournment be taken to 7.30 P.M.Monday August 9th,
1915.Adjourned.
