The Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach met in adjourned session at 7.30 P.M.Monday Sept 13th,1915 in the city hall. In the = absence of President Parkinson the clerk called the m®gting to order and trustee s.R.Jumper was elected president pro -tem on motion o$ trustee H.A.Robinson;seconded by trustee C.H.Way and carried. President Jumper ordered the'roll called and there resopnded thereto trustees S.R.Jumper;H.A.Robinson;C.H.Way and G.P,Wilson.Absent truste W.K.Parkinson. Various communications were read and referred to proper order of business. Unfinished business:Attorney Bishop advised that in the matter of th opening.of Bay Ave from 23rd to 30th streets that the discrepancy of figures appearing on the map and those incorporated in the resolutio of intention are fatal and irremediable and that on account of same the matter could not be maintained in court.In view of this advice it was moved by trustee C.H.Way seconded by trustee G.P.Wilson and carried that the seventh subdivision of objections filed on July 13t 1915 is sustained and the proceeding dismissed. Moved by trustee H.A.Robinson,seconded by trustee C.H.Way that the neccessary steps be taken at once looking to the 6pening of Bay Ave from 23rd,to 30th,streets.Carried. Resolution of intention declaring it to be the intention of the Board to order the openimg of Bay Ave from 23rd to 30 th streets was read for the first time and passed to second reading on motion of trustee C.H.Way seconded by trustee G.P.`..Vilson and carried. , Moved by trustee C.H.tiay seconded by trustee G.P.31ilson and carried that a committee be appointed to report at next meeting recommending size of assessment district to be established in the matter of open- ing Bay Ave. Moved by trustee H.A.Robinson that the committee to act in matter named next above be the entire board of trustees;street Supt Barker and Lew H.Wallace.i�a tion seconded by trustee C.H.Way and carried. Attorney Bishop reported that he had a conferrence with Mr Scharrbo rough representing Mr Ivine in the matter of frontage to be deeded the city and that an agreement had been reached and the papers sent on to Mr Irvine for his approval and signature. Request of the Newport Beach Band for a donation to fix up the open pavilion was filed without action. The letter from the Pacific Light and Power Corporation concerning the use of electricity at the water plant was referred to the water committee and the water Supt. Mrs King called attention to the lack of safety signal at 30th stree and the clerk was instructed to write the Pacific Electric Ry Co. asking that a wig -wag be placed at that point.These instructions were given on motion of trustee H.A.Robinson seconded by trustee G.P.Wilson and carried. Letter from the Rowley Drug Cc of Santa Ana soliciting orders for disinfectant filed. Copy of petition in the matter of installation of bulk head from S.P.! right of way to 36th street was filed. Engineer Funk reported that the extension of Alvarado street from Central Ave to the bay shore is without name.Discussion followed resulting in an order to Mr Funk to show on the map being prepared Alvarado street as extending from Ocean front to Bay shore and that street now known as Alvarado extending from Central Ave to the Bay to be shown as Alvarado Place. Mr Pease having in hand the.building of the. bulk -head west of the S.P. wharf made a talk on extending same to 36th street;resulting in a motion by trustee II.A.Robinson;seconded by trustee C.H.-Nay and carried that when.Mr Pease presents a petition calling for the work named signed by 51 percent,or more,of the property owners z2xjQazjDgaI2pxin the district affected;that the city Engineer is instructed thereupon to prepare plans,specifications and estimate of cost for a bulk -head and sidewalk extending from the S.P.Cos right of way.to 36th,street. Clerk was instructed to write the Secretary of the State R.R.Commisson asking for a copy or blue print of a map of the pipe lines of the ' West Coast Gas Cc as existing within the city of Newport Beach.
