City Hall, Newport Beach, Cal. June 19th, 1916.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in adjourned
session 7:30 P.M. date and place above shown.
President Jumper called the meeting to order and the roll was called
showing there were present trustees; S.R.Jumper, Glenn Helms, G.P.
Wilson, H.A.Robinaon and_J.C.MeCain, Absent None.
The minutes of the meeting of June 12th,1916, were read and approve,
Communications were read and referred to proper order of business.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS;
Matter of the removal of the Brown building
again came before the Board for attention.
Moved by trustee, G. P. Wilson seconded by trustee, Glenn Helms and
carried that the Brown building be mooned from the side walk and
that the Clerk notify Mr Brown to have the building removed.
NEW BUSINESS;
Moved by trustee, H. A. Robinson seconded by trustee, J.C.McCain
and carried that the petition of Fred Long, John Severding,'N.S.
Walker and E.H.Rose, owners of the west half of Block 10 Balboa
Tract to improve the Alley through their portion of the said block
sd by private contract be granted and the Street Sup't have the
Engineer furnish the grade.
Letter from the Evening Herald of Los Angeles enclosing a bill for
280 line advertisement which they claimed to have published in
accordance with an agreement amounting to $28.00 wazzEead came up
for attention and was laid over for attention at the next regular
meeting.
better from the Southern Counties Gas Company stating that they
would use every possible effort to have Natural Gas here by July
15th, was filed.
Moved by trustee; H.. A. Robinson seconded by "trustee, J.C.McCain and
carried that the Contract with the Boardman interests for the
purchase of the Gas Generating system be changed to read that the
Boardman people shall start of remove distributing system pipe
within 30 days after our lease of same shall expire, and that the
money for the purchase of the generating system be deposited in the
First National Bank of Newport Beach, subject to the Escrow instruc-
tions of the City Attorney. Roll was called showing Ayes; trustees,
S.R.Jumper, Glenn Helms, G.P.Wilson, H.A.Robinson, J.C.McCain, Noes
None. President Jumper declared the motion passed.

There was then presented and read Resolution # 56 the same being a
Resolution of the City of Newport Beach, authorizing the purchase of
the Gas Generating system, Lease of the Distributing system, agreeme
to buy the Balboa Island distributing system and authorizing applical
tion to the Railroad Commission for approval was regularly introduce)
and on motion of-trustee, G.P.Wilson seconded by trustee, Glenn Helmi
and carried the same was passed by the following roll call, Ayes;
trustees,,S.R.Jumper, Glenn Helms, G.P.Wilson, H.A.Robinson J.C.Me
Cain, Noes None. President Jumper thereupon declared Resolution #56
passed and thereupon signed the same, attested by the Clerk.

carried that demands 741003 and 1004 be allowed and Warrants drawn to
cover and deposited in the First National Bank of Newport Beach
subject to the Escrow instructions of the`City Attorney, the same
being the purchase price of the Gas Generating System and the first
month's lease of the distributing system.
Moved by trustee, G.P.Wilson seconded by trustee, H.A.Robinson and
carried that adjournment be taken sine -die. Adjourned.
